  1. Nice report Tom. It sounds like you had a solo "Blast".
  2. I started using the rubber coated shark 12# weights last year. They do have less blow back and track very nicely in the water. I took all of my round weights out of the boat.
  3. Very nice looking boat Jim.
  4. Tom, Thanks for this info. This changes our plans so that we can be more effective. This is a much shorter drive for us as well. We are in the process of making reservations at a campground and are looking forward to fishing the Big O.
  5. After reading all of the fish porn last summer coming from Lake Ontario, my crew and I are planning a trip this summer. We would like to fish Lake Ontario the first week of August. We were thinking the Salmon River area but would be open to any advice we could get. We would like to have a chance to catch one of those Big, Fat, Lake Ontario Salmon. We have never fished this lake. We are familiar with fishing Lake Michigan. Thanks. Tom Torrice Tangle Factor
  6. I have a Depth Raider and have been using it for 3 years now. I think you will like it.
  7. One more thing about braid Jeremy. When you tie braid you need to use a palmer knot. The trilean knot that is used with mono will not hold.
  8. I can't imagine how many walleyes I have caught in my life. But two years ago I had my best year with 101 boated out of Lake Erie.
  9. Kevin, thanks for the pictures, nice box of fish and day on the water.
  10. Good to see you got your boat wet Frank. I did that to my skeg last year. It really hurts.
  11. Thanks guys. I am thinking of goint to St Joe on Saturday. Now that I have had the boat wet it is calling me all of the time?
  12. I took the Tangle Factor out for a shake down trip on Sunday morning. Launched around 08:00 am out of Stearling and went out to Brest Bay and fished 15-18 fow managed two walleye. One on a glow crawler harness on a 2 oz bottom bounser and the other on a alwife spoon on the down rigger about 50 back 3 feet off of the bottom. Both walleye on the small side. The boat ran fine and it was a nice day on the water. Headed in at 01:30. It is early yet!
  13. Nice job Andy and crew. Good to see you got out on the water. I will make my first trip in a couple of weeks yet. Can't wait!
  14. When I let my divers out I don't flip the lever and let them free spool out. Just loosen up the drag so there is tention on the line at all times. This keeps the diver tracking properly and will avoid tangles. Since I have started doing this we have had a lot fewer tangles. When you reach the desired depth just tighten up the drag to the appropiate setting. Hope this helps.
  15. I am doing yard work on Saturday, and going to do my shake down run on Sunday in the Detroit River for some walleye action.
  16. Thanks Adam, this instruction is much more clear to me. I will give it a try and let you know how I do. Thanks Tom
  17. Ken I sometimes fish the river and with me it is a love hate thing. It is great when you don't have to fight the wind but it can be tough. Good to get out though. I probably would have done the same thing.
  18. Here is their web site. http://www.fishonshop.com/ Here is their phone number. 616-935-6985 It looks like a nice web site.
  19. Adam Bomb; I am confused by this knot. I have attempted it several times and cannot get the knot to seat properly. I think step 2 is not clear to me. I am assuming this is like a palmer knot. Any help would be appreciated. I am setting up two wire lines this year so I am new to wire. Thanks Tom.
  20. Mike, I am in Roscommon this weekend getting the Tangle Factor out of winter storage. I will be bringing her home and getting ready for the season. I am excited too!!
  21. Don, I have used the coated sharks as well and had very good luck with them. Less blow back and they track good.
  22. Kevin, I would use 40# Power Pro for dipsy's and have some 20# mono backing put on them. Tackle Haven in Benton Harbor does a good job. They can also set you up with a lead core rig for your boards.
