  1. GL Matt. I think a lot of the guys headed down to the Brown Blast.
  2. Not bad for new stuff.
  3. She's a diamond in the rough. I know you'll have her tip top in no time.
  4. Matt, Thanks for the report. GJ
  5. Nick, It's good to hear that they are behind it.
  6. I knew that would draw some fire. Most of us have tangled a feisty king into a rigger, but most of the time those fish are close to the boat and up high and even can be netted. Run wire back 200 ft and anything can get into it. Of course the same is true with braid, but braid is not apt to cut mono. I'm in no way implying that wire will not take fish. I just wanted to point out the Con. Whatever works best for you. A few years ago on a different site, guys were switching rigger wire to braid because they said the wire spooked the fish. A short time later the same ones were singing the praise of wire divers. Spooked on the riggers but not on the divers.
  7. Bob, Are you any relation to Keith (Buck) Teachout?
  8. Nice pic.
  9. Braid has it's places, but rigger rods are NOT one of them. The no stretch factor and problems with releases all work against you with braid on rigger rods.
  10. We all hear a lot of Pros on the wire divers. One of the Cons is, tangling another line with a fish on into a wire diver. Wire diver wins, fish off, not to mention tackle. I run braid. I saw the above happen on a friends boat in Frankfort.
  11. Nice ride. Ya gotta know I love them hardtops.
  12. Nice pic. Nothing like watching the sun rise or fall on the big pond.
  13. Dan, Good luck with the new boat. I'm sure the work will be a labor of love.

  18. Hi Tony. A warm welcome to the GLF site. You will like it here. I fish the Saginaw Bay mostly out of AuGres. I fish from a Starcraft Islander hardtop. I'm retired so I hit the water quite regularly Mon-Fri. You will do fine in your boat. Watch the weather reports, and keep an eye on the sky. Use common sense. Just holler if you need any help. Fishon.
  19. :thumb: Two thumbs up for Nick. That is some intense competition. The best of luck in Atlanta.
  20. Double, GJ. It's great to get the kids out.
