  1. Lots of good choices. The Yellow Tail in one of my all time favorites, along with the purples. The glows I lump into one category.
  2. I still run squid behind a dodger or flasher. Many of the meat rig set ups use squid like teasers ahead of the meat. A lot of the deep sea fishermen use them. eBay has a ton of them listed. Here is a link. http://cgi.ebay.com/20-Pcs-OCTOPUS-SQUID-SKIRTS-SOFT-LURE-4-5cm_W0QQitemZ280482498462QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item414e0f479e
  3. Thanks for the reports Steve. You'll get em next time.
  4. Jim, A warm welcome to you. You will like it here. I fish out of AuGres on the Saginaw Bay. I'm looking forward to some of your walleye reports. There are a lot of friendly people here.
  5. GJ Duane. Nothing like them yellow bellied perch.
  6. I think Phil (plumkrazy) ran it last year. If I remember correctly he likes it. Maybe Phil will chime in.
  7. I think Jim must have been an old HAM bone. He talks the talk, and walks the walk.
  8. Nothing like some Steel.
  9. Ahhhhh! Those Lake Superior Lake Trout are SUPERIOR. They look different and taste different.
  10. Mike, I'm glad to see it's in the water. Mine will get splashed in a couple of weeks. We may do a trip or two in Big Jack's 17 footer. Don't the boats always look better in the water? It's what they were made for. I enjoy seeing the cabin boys reeling one in.
  11. Jay, Way to get after them. I love that port.
  12. Larrie, A warm welcome to the GLF site.
  13. Well at least you had a nice get a way, and one walleye.
  14. Nice looking boat. Rod holders do make the difference.
  15. I was thinking about one for a couple of years. My boat does OK, but I only have a 140 4 cylinder in my 22 Islander. The extra weight of the batteries and the unit is a factor for me. The weight would be right where I don't need it. Of course the $$$ was another consideration. If the weight wasn't a concern for me, I would have probably had one by now. I know some people that have them, and they work well for them. Speed control and stealth are the BIG pluses.
  16. WTG Mark. Fabulous fishing.
  17. I don't run copper but I do have some of the Offshore snapper releases. They are adjustable and really clamp down.
  18. Back a few years, when it was two rods each, we would drag a dedicated beat up rigger ball. We always had a few lines deep and further back to get the job done. I never liked targeting LT, but it won some tournaments.
  19. I'll give it a whirl when I get done reading the threads. I'm curious to see how it will work on Ubuntu 9.10. I'll let you know. Thanks for the great new feature.
