  1. GJ Eagle. I'm getting closer to satisfying my addiction. Wishin I was Salmon Slamin.
  2. GJ Kuz, We fished out of AuGres and took 7. Two of those fish came in the last few minutes. I would have liked to fish another hr, but had to be in by noon. We had 2 fish that were 5 to 5-1/2#s. We had 4 fish on about 5 minutes before it was time to pull lines. 2 went in the box. The fish were turning on when it was time for us to go.
  3. Dipsys high and out, and planer boards. Orange is a good color for steel.
  4. I never tried a slider above a Flasher. I just could imagine a tangled mess. I would be interested on how that played out.
  5. Thanks Capt. I'm going to fish the Saginaw Bay Sunday, for some Walleyes. I'm going to watch the weather and try and get a crew together for a couple days next week. Thanks again Capt. Dick:)
  6. WTG Dan. I intentionally sat today out to let things settle back down. I'll try it tomorrow.
  7. Yes, I have run flasher fly combos on the Dipsys and Riggers.
  8. I may be pulling Priority1 to Manistee very soon. Anybody fished there lately? I'll have to stick close to the packs until I figure out the net locations. Manistee is my favorite Lake Michigan port. Nets were NOT a factor last year.
  9. With the thunder storms yesterday and strong N.E. winds blowing today, I thought I would sit Saturday out and let the bay settle down a bit. I will be going out Sunday morning with a neighbor, and Roger69 from this site. We have been working a little harder for the Walleye lately. June was a fantastic month for walleye on the Saginaw Bay. I did manage a 30-1/2 inch 9# Walleye a couple of weeks ago. I have to take a day and get my Salmon gear in order. I hope to be in Manistee soon, for some Salmon Slamin. I'm also looking forward to fishing the Stinger Tourney in August, and the GLF site get together the Sun after. With ReelScreamer onboard I hope he can live up to his name. Us East Coasters will be outnumbered for sure, but NOT out fished.
  10. GJ Rob. VN Trophy Rich, Don't go using that flasher.
  11. Welcome aboard Fishnfreak. I'm sure you will like it here. I know you will be able to help out with some mechanical advise.:Yellowtail:
  12. The Kings will be there. They turn on in that stuff.
  13. Kowabunga, WTG Slammer. I'm needing a Salmon fix real bad.
  14. Thanks for the info Rich. Find out what they want and give em lots of it.
  15. R.I.P. Fred. Here's a little more. EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) -- Fred Trost, who hosted the popular "Michigan Outdoors" hunting and fishing television show, has died. He was 61. Trost died Wednesday of a rare lung condition after spending several weeks in the hospital, his son, Zachary Trost of East Lansing, told The Associated Press on Thursday. "Michigan Outdoors" was broadcast on public television across the state, until a $4 million judgment against him for an investigative series he did on deer scent lures led to his departure in 1992. He later began broadcasting another show, "Practical Sportsman," also on public television. "I've had people come up to me over the past few weeks and say, `I learned fishing from your father,' `I learned how to skin a fish from your father,' `Your father made me passionate about the outdoors,'" Zachary Trost told the Lansing State Journal. Friends remember Fred Trost as a giant of the outdoors. "He was a big deal," said Tony Hansen, editor of Michigan Out-of-Doors magazine. "He was the first outdoor media star. Kind of a larger-than-life personality." In the late 1990s, while still working on the show, Fred Trost enrolled in Cooley Law School, graduating cum laude, his son said. Trost stopped production of "Practical Sportsman" in 2005. Zachary Trost said the family expected to meet Thursday to plan a memorial service for his father. "He did not want a funeral. He doesn't want people to grieve for his death. He wants people to enjoy our limited time here and the outdoors," he said.
  16. I love the late and early Salmon bite. I use a lot of glow spoons, squid, flies, and flashers. I also have two 55W halogen lights, mounted on my hardtop, shining down on the fishing area. These lights make it real easy to net a fish and set lines. Running out my glow stuff is on the engine cover absorbing some of these rays. Before putting any glow stuff down they get zapped with a white LED converted mini mag light.
  17. GJ Captain Dan. Gotta Luv that Sag Bay.
  18. I have been up there in the past but never fished it. Let us know how you make out.
