  1. I have the x4d, my error in the previous message. I corrected it. You'll love it. Wish it were cheaper.
  2. I run it on my bigger boat. I thing it's the best. It is an X4D, reads temp, depth and speed at ball. On the littleboat I use a small hand held fishawk attach it to a line with a 2-4 oz weight, send it to the bottom, let it settle out and then slowly crank it up. It reads temp every 5 feet. Then I decide how to fish.
  3. I know the feeling. Morning bites were poor, but evening was much better. I did have one tangle last night, but it was when the fish twisted the braid somehow under the inside of the snap swivel on the dipsy. I lost about 15 minutes until I finally had to cut it apart. The 4th fish (king) hit at the same time and stayed hooked until I pulled it to the boat and bungled it. Also the launch ramps were really busy with the holiday boaters. The fog wasn't bad at all. You could see land and other boats easily.
  4. Fleas were there, but about 75% less on the braid and alot easier to flick off. I wear gloves pulling in the line when I hand over hand net by myself with the braid. If I tangle the braid with a SD or other, I cut it and retie the snap swivel. It's to difficult to try and straighten it out. When I use mono I have a little plastic fork with smooth edges to flick off the feas.
  5. Nice catch. We probably passed each other during the trolls.
  6. Called out for you last night on the radio a few times to see if you got out?
  7. Fished 6:30-9pm 3/4, one king 13.6#, one 10.5# and one steelhead 6.54#. Lost number 4, a big king at the boat do to the negligence of my 1 man crew...me. 1st was the steelhead on a 8C in 131 fow, with a uv blue dolphin, sog2.5, se course (144). 2nd was the 1st king on a DR 70 down, 50bk with a speckle dick uv meat rig in 125 fow and netminder SD, 2.5 sog, same course. 3rd was the largest king on a braided diver, set 3, back 130 with SD frog racer( it got hit by the 4th fish again) in 110 fow, with a uv green ice meat rig. What a night! All hits were between 7 and 8:30pm.
  8. What ever you do, don't sell that fish finder!
  9. Darn, would have love it. Just finished eating the walleye I caught from the otherside of the state. Definitely looking for a new supply.
  10. Weather should be getting better, thanks for report. I hope to get out before the chariot races begin down the channel. That was horrible last Saturday
  11. Fished 9:30am-12:30 north. 0/2 in 55 and 60fow today. Water was cold, stayed shallow. Lost the 1st in 55ft, dr back 60 dwn 25 w/ green glow frog sd and poofster fly, 2.5 sog nnw troll. I thought it was going to take the rod off the boat. 2nd with same rig in 60ft, dr back 30 dwn 30, sog 2.6. Darn fish spit it out. Did lose a wire diver, sd and meat rig today when the wire fatigued at the swivel. Ouch $$$! No other activity, no spoons took a hit, just a beautiful day. No bugs though? I don't know where they went?
  12. I was wondering how things were going out there with the wind and waves. Better day tomorrow for you. I hate it when those little characters take you equipment home with them. I'll check with you in the am if your out Sunday.
  13. Looks like it could made it to the 20 mark. Congratulations anyway, timing is everything. You were in the right place with the right presentation.
  14. The scales faked all over the place and the spots were very hard to see and few as you described. Thanks, I have learned alot.
  15. Working my deck next couple of days, probably won't get out until Sunday am, but whenever I'm out I'll give a quick call.
  16. The blue kerchief on the left is from my Golden Retriever who passed away in February. He was a great dog I had for a lucky 13 years. He fishes with me whenever I go out.
  17. If you look a little underneath of the lower part of the helm wheel you will see my Raymarine Autopilot I install. The 6hp outboard is just incase my main motor stops. I have a troll plate, but never use it unless I really want to go real slow. With the boat in gear and the throttle back it trolls at about 1.9 to 2.3 sog. I use the I-pilot when I'm jigging or trolling for walleye on small rivers and lakes and want to keep the noise to a minimum.
  18. 16 1/2' Crestliner Sport Angler. I bought it used about 3 years ago. I installed all the electronics and even added an autopilot on it last year. I did all the rigging also. I think the only things I'm missing now are radar and missle launchers? Easy to one man launch and retrieve. Still, catching fish requires knowing your species and the environment, but improving your setup makes it somewhat easier. I can put alot of rods on the boat, but only 3 in the water.
