  1. Agreed, the conflict is spilling over from another site where it happens all the time. We won't let that happen here. Nothing major but a couple posts that were off topic are gone.
  2. I know a lot of Lk Michigan trollers up and down the coast and I don't know anyone who runs those rigs. They used to sell a similar rig called a schooley for dragging off downriggers many years ago. I don't know anyone running them so they must not have worked very well or guys would be still be dragging them.
  3. In smaller spots with limited access likes piers or tribs, it makes sense not to broadcast about them but I don't think you need to worry to much about the big lake. This place is not like the one you had issues with.
  4. All the southwest rivers have fresh chrome in them now and are fishing good. I'm sure you could hit some fish up north too but the best is yet to come there.
  5. A bit early to get the boats out. http:// http://t.monroenews.com/news/2015/mar/19/fishermen-rescued-lake-erie-thursday-afternoon/?templates=tablet&news=
  6. Welcome Doug, lot's of helpful anglers here as you can already see in this thread. What you won't see is all the drama and fighting that occur on some other forums.
  7. Lake Michigan was mostly ice covered and she really opened up the last couple days. 2-27 image
  8. Some open water is encouraging. Nice pics!
  9. The hype looks great. Over the years I've found the best use of my tackle dollars come from buying spoons or rigs that either I or my buddies hit fish real good on very recently, then I open my wallet. It will be interesting to see how those spoons work when the season starts.
  10. Great pics
  11. Looks like you had a fine season. Nothing better than spending it with your daughter.
  12. Nice hunt!
  13. It has been decent around here, been getting from 5 to 22 each trip on local lakes in Waterloo. Here are few pics: 22 gills My daughter gets a small pike, let him go after the pic. The biggest perch was 12 inches.
  14. Thanks for sharing the video and welcome to GLF!
  15. Nice looking boat!
  16. Nice video, thanks for sharing and welcome to GLF!
  17. The latest data and info will be presented here in Ludington at the Seagrant Seminar: http://www.miseagrant.umich.edu/news/2014/12/08/2015-ludington-regional-fishery-workshop/ I went last year, it was very informative.
  18. Shore fishing is limited on the St. Joe, using a boat opens up a ton more good water to fish. A boat is the best way to fish it from Berrien to the Lake. It just lets you cover a lot more spots.
  19. Tackle Haven in Benton Harbor has one too but your bagging/freezing the guts.
  20. Enjoy all the good times on your new boat!
  21. Congratulations on some good shooting. That was quite a hunt!

    10 Pt

Got this with my bow earlier this week. He was cruising a tree line across a bean field from me. He was headed into a woodlot going away from me. I pulled out the grunt call and gave 2 of the loudest grunts I could make since he was out there, was not even sure he could hear it. He looked right my way and started coming. Halfway across the field, he started to lose interest and was veering away. I gave him one more grunt, he corrected his course and kept coming my way. He got to 30 ft and was broadside but still moving, I drew the bow, gave him an "ehh" and he stopped, I shot and I got him. Gun season starts in Michigan Saturday. Good luck to everyone deer hunting around the great lakes. Look forward to see some more pics and stories.
  23. Take some time over the next few days to speak to your friends and family and encourage them to vote yes. Lots of lies coming from HSUS in their media campaign to defeat both proposals.
