  1. `I need the names of a place to get my boat serviced in holland. I want to pull it over there and have the work done and then store it on the trailer over there some where. If you know of a good wrench or marina let me know. Thanks Steve
  2. We have had mag 10's and old digitroll 2 from the 90's. We sold the mag 10 and the digiterolls are awsome. So I guess if I ever have to replace them it will be with some more cannons.
  3. Welcome It a good group here. I fish sag bay most weekends. There seams to be more and more of us east siders here every week.
  4. Ok after they wanted $390 to install a second battery on my small boat I decided the directions looked simple enough. I have installed the second battery and wired everything but the motor to the deep cycle. I have the positive leads hooked to each side of the switch and the motor positive ti the main as show in the diagram. My question is Do I run a neg lead from the second batt. to the starting batt or how else would I ground the second battery? Now I am by no means an expert but the diagram with the switch shows the starting and 2nd battery connected to gether and run to the engine. Thanks Steve
  5. Our rig came with a drop curtian and while I am glad I have it I have only used on the water 2 times and then I had to take it down while fishing. Other than that its on in the driveway to keep the birds out.
  6. :thumb:I will be there. I plan on comming over thursday and fish fri-sun Steve Kelly

  8. My father and I both run. And in the excitement last year he tried to set the hook after he had released the DR and forgot to reel down. I have never seen someone fall on their A** so fast. I almost fell down laughing:thumb:
  9. Walleye boards here. I just started using them last year and lovem
  10. I think that guy has out slept me and out fished me every trip out. I showed hunter that pic when I got home. Then I got to hear all about your friend that caught the smallest fish and the biggest. It was his first salmon and now he has been asking when we are going again. As nice as it is having our own boats We really enjoyed you inviting us along on yours. It was nice to be able to spend a little time with him with out having to man rods and run the boat. We hope to see you at the WMFl events this year. PS Hunter said the bed in your boat is way better than ours Steve & Hunter
  11. Not yet but I always launch as far down river as I can and only fish up river. That way if an ice flow comes down I can beat it back to the ramp. My first year out I got caught by an ice flow and had to dock at a marina downriver and get a ride to my truck and trailer. It doubles my drive and motoring time but I don't ever want to get caught again on the wrong side of a flow.
  12. I will be on the detroit river next week. I saw the launce and a big part of lake erie open. I am going to try for walleyes in the river and browns and steelies on the Can side.
  13. Glad to here all went well for you guys.
  14. If you look on craigs list in the sporting section type in salmon or trolling and you will get a ton of tackle for cheap. I just picked up 60 Silver streaks and proking spoons for 40 bucks.
  15. I am haveing a hard time finding swivals for the connections on my copper this year. I am changing from nots to swivals because I just plain suck at splicing nots. i.e. to big, pull apart and look shady. Where can I get the straight sided swivals and what size do I need. I find 80lbs sampo regular swivals with the wire eyelets. I see most of the talk is about this swival that is straight with holes in the barrel instead of wire eyelets. Thanks Steve
  16. youcan look at the ray st1000 or st 2000. You will have to make a bracket but they go up to 36000lbs displacement. I just put 1 on my kicker and the braket was fairly easy to figure out. on my walleye boay. I am in the process of making 1 that will work on my 23 donzi.
  17. This is an old product getting better, when the LJ were a good old product that got worse.
  18. The last weekend in august for a weekend would be good for me other than that Iam pretty much open for the rest of the summer.
  19. Last year I had 2 fairly new LJ dipsys (no nuts) stri[ out on the first trip of the year. And I picked up a set of walkers 124 and they have been run every trip and work great. I don't think I will be getting anymore LJ dipsys. I am adding 2 more walkers for wire this year. I really like not having to woory about the ring either. Steve
  20. welcome abord, It's a good group here. steve
  21. I'll make the Manistee outing for sure, it was nice meeting you guy last year. And if my wife wants to go to ludington this year again we will see you guys there 2. Thanks for putting this together Steve
  22. Steve Kelly 32 royal oak, mi Huron I fish Sebewaing, Port Austin, Harbor beach and Grindstone. Detroit river, Luna pier (Erie) Lake michigan Manistee, St Joe Boats 18 lund ssv ( Bladerunner) and 23 donzi fisherman (project boat) Privateer. I Started really getting back into salmon 2 years ago after changing to walleye after the Huron collapse. Mainly fish Erie till april for early may for walleye and then Saginaw bay till mid june and then outer bay and S Huron for salmon and walleye. I will be fishing the WMFL out of Holland this year for my salmon fix and Manistee in the fall. Last year was my best season for walleye and a good start to my salmon numbers. I am lucky enough to fish 3 weekends out of the month But will only be going over to L Mi once a month.
  23. Personaly I have had both and would not waste the money on manuals if I was SUREI was going to get electrics next year. That being said I have seen some really good deals on electric DR's used. The electrics I have now are 1992 cannons and they work like a charm. And between dipsys and copper/core set ups you can easily put 9 rods in the water. A good friend of mine runs 1.5 lbs weights off the back of the boat cause he can't afford DR and they tak fish too. Steve
  24. welcome aboard. They have a great group here, I think you will like it. Steve
