  1. I used a 2x8 board wrapped it with some outdoor carpet and mounted my downriggers to the board. I bolted the board to the cleats with some J bolts. Worked great, but this year Im going to change things up a bit. Going with the board is probobly going to be the cheapest route but very effective also.
  2. Good deal Nick! I bet your excited, and relieved at the same time:D
  3. Well hell I can't turn that deal down! Too funny those were the two reels I was going to put copper on:p
  4. Good luck Gord! Let us know how it goes for you.
  5. I can't give you any tips, as I only know what I have read online about copper setups. Im going to rig a couple of copper rigs this year and give it a try off the boards.
  6. Congrats on getting the boat out of storage! I have another month with anitfreeze in mine I figure up here in the frozen north:(

  9. I haven't used mine yet, but there is a control knob on the front of the switch box to control the speed. They look to be nice units. They look exactly like the captains pak manuals with a motor and gear box. Can't wait to try mine out:D
  10. hahaha I missed this one! You sure have the cold part right:p
  11. Ouch! I smoked a trailer bearing once. Its not a good feeling going down the highway watching smoke pour out of the hub. Good thing I was only a few miles from my storage and was able to pull over and wait for the bearing to cool down and get to my destination. Lack of maint on my part! Bearing buddies are on my trailer now. Well at least it didn't happen in the heat of summer fishing:D
  12. Since Im on afternoons again this week, I will do my best to sneak on and chat a bit!

  15. Welcome to the forum! Depending on your budget like as been stated you might want to use boards or dipsys first before you buy any riggers. There is alot of fishing stuff for sale right now from people who are upgrading or just need the money. Start surfing the fishing forums for sale ads and craigslist is another place to find some good used fishing equipment.
