  1. Well I couldn't take it any longer and fired up the chartplotter, and fishfinder today! Couldn't get the chartplotter to turn on. It finally worked after 4 hard resets:( Glad it finally worked, but doesn't give me the warm fuzzy feeling! Anyway here is some shots for you guys that bought the Raymarine fishfinder, and some of the chartplotter. Oh and the pics don't do the fishfinder justice. http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q23/vitalidle/WWTPUpgrades145.jpg"] http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q23/vitalidle/WWTPUpgrades143.jpg"] http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q23/vitalidle/WWTPUpgrades144.jpg"] http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q23/vitalidle/WWTPUpgrades146.jpg"] http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q23/vitalidle/WWTPUpgrades147.jpg"]
  2. Welcome to the forum! Sounds like you have a good bunch of friends! Isn't fishing great! lol
  3. The rumors are they are catching kings through the ice in trout bay! Can't wait for ice out.
  4. I have the 47lc's and 57lc's with a couple of older sealines. I also have an okuma that I won in a raffle. Not sure what model. I do like the diawa's. I want to run copper off my planer boards this year, and would love to buy the tekota's, but for the money I am having a hard time not buying the okuma convectors. I will keep collecting my returnables........the tekota's are sweet.
  5. Okay that makes the most sense to me. So my guess is they want you to run the 4 awg to the bus bar and then run mutiple riggers off the same bus bar? Seems that would be the only reason to run a buss bar anyway. The wire is 12 awg from the motors, so if I tie in the 10 awg plugs and run 8 awg to the bus I would think I should be fine? The run shouldn't be more then 4 ft.
  6. Don't have any experience with them, but I'm interested to hear if they are a good tool or not!
  7. I have used flatfish with good success with coho. Never trolled them behind a big boat just a 12ft rowboat in the dirty water at the river mouths in the spring.
  8. If you buy it Nick get us some pics!
  9. I was going through the booklet that comes with the riggers. I bought 2 brutes or speedriggers and it says to use 4 awg wire. Looking at the wire to the motors its 12/2 wire. Battery cables are 4 awg aren't they? I bought 2 plugs for trolling motors that has 10 awg wire. So what is everyone using? It says to run the 4 awg to the bus from the bats. Electrical is not my strong suit. Can I use the plugs with the 10 awg from the bus to the 12/2 wires to the motors?
  10. Thanks for the info! My current thru hull is 2", so I will have to drill it out to 2 3/8's for the B60. I did some research, and it looks like this is the way to go if you need to drill a larger hole with a hole saw. Its called an oops arbor. Check it out http://toolmonger.com/2008/03/26/enlarge-holes-with-the-starrett-oops-arbor/ Thats good news about the B60 as my roller does roll right over the thru hull.
  11. I see the place that was listing them for $549 has raised the price:(Anyway here is the link http://waypointent.com/FishHawk_1.html
  12. I think we might be a bit ahead of schedule for ice out this year with the thaw we had! Hopefully in a month, or less we will have open water!
  13. Thats cool! They are hooked for life:D
  14. Good luck! Sounds like a nice boat.
  15. Who all has them and what model. I just bought a Raymarine DS600X a couple weeks ago. It came with the transom ducer. I have a datamarine depth sounder with a thru hull ducer in the boat right now. It doesn't work and Im considering buying a new thru hull ducer. My dad and I own a 16ft polarcraft with a lowrance fishfinder that never worked real well. Im thinking of using the raymarine transom ducer for the polar craft and then just use the raymarine fishfinder when I use the polarcraft. I guess Im just looking for some feedback on the thru hulls from anyone who owns them. Looks like I can use the B60 tilted element for my A series Raymarine. Anyone have this ducer? Thanks sorry for the novel. Probobly should have put this thread in the marine electronics section.
  16. hahaha man do I feel like a Homer:o Gotta love the local hardware:D Thanks Frank.
  17. Great idea Frank! Where is the best place to buy the tubing?
  18. Welcome to the forum! It won't be long we all will be telling fish stories:D
  19. Have a look at this article.http://www.trailerboats.com/output.cfm?id=1210105
  20. I was reading on some other forums for boating that you can use an 8-9 hp motor that is the high thrust kicker that uses lower gearing and a larger diameter prop. Might save some weight and money. Worth checking into.
  21. Hey everyone Happy St Patrick's Day! Be safe if your drinking the green stuff today;)
  22. You still get a 2 year warrenty. Hopefully you don't have to use it! One good thing is we all can help each other out getting it set up right:D
  23. I can't give you any feedback yet on mine. Still new in the box. Everything I read on the DS600X was that it was in the same class as the furuno fishfinders. They had some issues with fogging screens early on I guess, but have since replaced the screen with glass and new orings. For that price Its tough not to buy one if you need a fishfinder. Good luck on your search.
  24. Amen Brother that's the one! Okay well I sure due appreciate you saving me 16 hours of travel:D I knew it was too good to be good;)
