  1. Welcome aboard Ben. Thats a fine boat you purchased. A friend of mine ran one of those for years.
  2. Thanks fellas, its been a great season. Wish i could hunt some during the week, but it is what it is and im happy. Had a great hunt today. We took 12 ducks and a couple geese. Will get those pics up tomorrow.

  5. Yup, be safe and have a great hunt in the morning everyone. Ill be in the truck putting in some windshield time for Saturdays Zone 2 Waterfowl opener. Hoping to K.O. some geese and hopefully a few quackers!
  6. Had 62* surface temps yesterday and the break was still down 90-100'.
  7. Sorry to hear that. Id definitely turn that into the insurance company. Thats why you pay for it. Dad had to have that done on his boat and the estimate was the same. Youll have to bottom paint that boat from now on. Good luck with your work and with the repairs.
  8. Ah, dont sting too bad Matt. You gotta be on em to catch em. At no point today did i feel i was onto anything good. No bait, very few fish...Thats fishing. He probably had some good water down there and all the elements that make for a good trip. Thats fishin'. Still good to get out on the big lake. Be careful out there boys. That water is mighty cold. Had to take my shoes and socks off to get the boat on the trailer and sheeeewww was it chilly! Couldnt imagine having my whole body submerged in that. You surely wouldnt last long.
  9. Well, headed over to Ludington this morning to get the boat. Plan was if it was nice fish, if not, head right back home. Dad wanted to leave later, so we took off around 4:50:rolleyes: which got us to the boat around 7:30. Lake was beautiful so we headed out. Ran out to the 37 line and went on a north troll. Zigged zagged in and out and not much for fish on the graph, but what we did mark was parked between 90-100' down. Put lots of stuff in that range as well as experimenting with anything from 3-10 color and 150-300 copper, wires from 100-250, speed all over, nothing doing anywhere. Had one little shaker on a rigger 100' down, but lost it about half way in. That came on a Fishlander UG Green Froggy 50' off the ball....Wind started to pick up and the waves began to build so we decided to get outta dodge. Dont know if it got real ugly or not...didnt care to find out. There were a few other boats out as well and i never seen anyone turn around or a net fly. Just long passes until they were outta sight. Looked like they were in hunt mode too. Talked to the creel guy and only one fish had been brought in, so i dont feel all that bad. He said the past few days have been good when the guys got out....Awe well, thats fishin. Time to hunt!
  10. I hear that Matt. Last year in 5 weekends we boated 129 fish. Didnt even keep track this year, but its pitiful. Ah well, thats fishing. Just didnt have the time when the weather was good.
  11. I figured you were gonna get beat up. Sorry to hear ma nature didnt cooperate. Glad you got a fish on your new copper though.
  12. Nice job Rex, thanks for the report. Im heading over in about 4 hours to get the boat. Hope its nice...if it is, im fishing, if its rough, im hooking on and heading back home...Worst season ever for me. Didnt get out hardly at all. So busy and then the weather just didnt do me any favors.
  13. Nicely done. Its not always about the fishing....sometimes it just nice to get away. Good stuff. Congrats to your son on the pike as well.
