  1. Tom T, Paul R, Big John, Mel D, and I fished in 31-34 FOW to take a 5 man limit of eyes and four bonus perch. 1.5 MPH 2oz and 3 oz bouncers with harnesses and the real deal. Colors Copper, Glows, Purple, Red. We launced at 7 and pulled line about noon. It wasn't our fastest trip but we kept picking away at them. We only ran 11 lines because of conditions. Gitter Done. http://www.greatlakesfisherman.com/gallery/files/8/7/walleye_augres_6-17-10.jpg' alt='walleye_augres_6-17-10.jpg'>
  2. Jarod, Some nice fish.
  3. In-lines for Salmon and Walleye. I used to run the big boards but soon realized the in-lines are the way to go. For Salmon I seldom run more than 4 boards along with 4 Dipsys and 4 riggers. For Walleye I will run up to 10 in-line boards. For Walleye my percentages skyrocketed since switching to the OR12 Offshore boards with tattle flags. I have fished along side of seasoned fishermen with big boards, and the lil boards consistently take more fish. I still have the means to hook up the big boards, but I haven't run them in about 5 years.
  4. Insta Launch is a good site to camp, I have camped there. Most of the people with larger boats that camp there launch at the City launch near the mouth of the River. Manistee lake has a lot of shallow areas and it's a ways to the river mouth. I'd compare conditions similar to Snug Harbor at Muskegon. Trust me, Launch at the City Launch.
  5. GJ Capt. Dick, Keep hammering them.
  6. Way to hit em Tony. Give my best to your folks.
  7. Gordy, Thanks for posting the pic.
  8. GJ on the Erie eyes.
  9. Matt, GJ especially without a net.
  10. John, At least you got the skunk out of the box. It will only get better.
  11. I am more than pleased with this system. I do have a slight issue with my refurbished Toughbook. The Toughbook's touchscreen developed a problem. It is covered and I will not take it out of service until mid Sept. I used chartplotters on other peoples boats but this is the first one on Priority1. Way points saving is a bit tougher with this system. It involves a right click and a lil typing. The MOB (Man Overboard) feature is the quickest way to put a marker on the chart. MOB is simply a Ctrl Spacebar. Overall I'm very pleased with it's size and the way it functions. There are several hot keys for zoom, track, auto, find boat, etc. I can see depth numbers from the back of the boat. The SOG is also in nautical miles per hr. At my trolling speeds I simply add 0.2 to this to come up with MPH. Turning it on and off is like powering a computer on and off. The GPS locks on better than any other I have seen. It was functioning in my basement, a steel building, and in my garage. The fact that it's also a fully functional laptop is another big plus. Using the plotter I find it's not necessary to have as many way points as I had before. I can quickly recognize areas I have done well in before. Other than the cost of the laptop I have under $60 into it. These are the pros and cons.
  12. Thanks for posting the video JB. WTG.
  13. Rick S. Tom T, Jack S, and I fished AuGres this morning. We took our limit by about 10 AM and farmed one keeper and about 5 future fish. We also kept 2 bonus perch, and had an acrobatic Steelhead hit a crawler harness and put on a lil show for us before spitting the harness back at us close to the boat. The Steelie was off before we could get the board in. Same old program Bouncers and harnesses trolled at 1.5 mph. We had our first eye in the box before we had 3 lines in. I know these posts sound redundant, but it is what it is. Oh we were in 31+FOW. Get em while there HOT. Gitter Done. A big THANKS to Tom T. for his expert help on the back of the boat. A big THANKS also to Jack S. and his son Rick for coming up and across from the GR area to fish with us. Jack S. is a former Charter Captain out of Frankfort. It's always a pleasure to fish with real fishermen. http://www.greatlakesfisherman.com/gallery/files/8/7/augres_6-14-10_4_man_limit.jpg' alt='augres_6-14-10_4_man_limit.jpg'>
  14. John, It was a pleasure fishing with you last week.
  15. I always buy my license on line. I then print 2 copies. One is in my billfold the other in the glove compartment of my boat. It's the way to go. I'm into the sporting shops regularly and pick up a copy of the rules. The rules can also be viewed on line. I usually glance at the rules while doing one of my daily jobs. I know!!!!, not a picture to leave you with.
