  1. Sounds good! I will check the radio when/if we go
  2. Where do you fish out of? My boat is being used until it ices up so maybe we will run into one another. I fish port Sheldon, Holland, saugatuck
  3. Gotta watch that east wind. I have been out a couple times in rough easts. Remember that the noaa is for "nearshore" and the farther you got from land the worse that east wind gets over the shore line.
  4. I will be hitting some fall action as well so I will post results for the fun of it good or bad. Thanks for the lengthy responses....that answered my questions as well!
  5. I am not sure of I fished a total of 18 miles all summer let alone that far out! Nice trip to end the season.
  6. Throw spoons for pike on the rabbit. Might accidentally catch a salmon or steelhead but pike are there
  7. Always worth a try! Looking forward to a report on east Mac
  8. Nice work guys! We hit it at 11 but no salmon for us today. Didn't mark anything once we entered the channel and with my kids on board didn't venture out to the big lake. Made numerous trips around lake Mac but so did about 12 other boats with us. I saw nothing else caught. We got a sheep and big cat on a single core pulling a pink rapala type lure.
  9. Boats that don't obey the rules, common sense, or courtesy is what those big 1 oz egg sinkers are for....
  10. NIce!! We will be there tomorrow with my kids enjoying the weather. Thanks for the report as it gives me a starting point.
  11. Watch the wave forecast....could get really nasty quickly! White lake and muskegon lake ought to have salmon and walleye if the big lake is bad.
  12. That's rough! Saturday nor Sunday was good...is it just the changing weather right now???
  13. Plenty of perch fishermen north of the channel. Holland gets some stocking but not near what the kzoo or grand get. Hoping to target the younger salmon with steelies and browns through fall if weather cooperates
  14. One 5lb steelie on half core white moonshine spoon. Started in the channel and trolled all the way to 110. Marked fish consistently startibg in about 60fow all the way to 110fow and back. Got bleeding off by strong east winds. Radio chatter was all the same....marking lots and just washing lures. Hopefully someone figured them out.
  15. Will be out pf Holland in the morning so thanks for the info!
  16. Also from Hamilton....PM anytime and I can provide gas or beer! Great looking boat. Will get one of my own in the next couple years (after wife's new vehicle and masters degree)
  17. Oh yeah....reminds me of when I used to fish the grand river this time of year! Might just be fun to walk up and down the pier heads and watch/listen for the entertainment. Be nice out there!
  18. excellent! Thats why I like Lake Mac instead of PS because if its bad outside you always have the channel and Mac for sheep, cats, walters, pike, possible musky. I always pack a walleye rod with me.
  19. We had a large lamer last week with no fight and just dragged. Was a hair over 15lbs and felt like I was dragging in a rigger weight
  20. Ran 30lb mono dipseys all last year and never had a problem. Switched to braid due to its durability and diameter. Otherwise mono works fine.
  21. Nice FBD! That's been handy since I only have a 17'. That buoy is really handy
  22. Great read before I hit my pillow and go on vacation tomorrow! Sounded like an awesome trip! And I hear ya with those 17' boats. My 1700 sylvan expedition has seen her share of waves the last 2 seasons.
