  1. Got the webcam...love it. Thanks for the other piece of info blackhawk!
  2. What is the address to the Holland buoy to get the surface temp?
  3. My small inline boards are set to release and slide but my tx-44s I have for copper face towards the board. Easier to handle with all that copper out there. I don't mind my small boards sliding....I think it puts more pressure on the fish but also takes some of the fight out due to the drag.
  4. You got a picture of the flathead??? Would love to see that!
  5. Makes me feel better about my pentwater trip in a few weeks!
  6. I don't throw a lure in the water anymore unless its been sharpened. Can't say my hooking ratio is high but on the year I am 5-5 in 3 trips (knock on wood) and haven't lost a sheepie yet either. Sharp hooks are imperative
  7. I will be in pentwater middle of august. Anyone out there shoot me a pm for fishing, your boat or mine..can't wait!
  8. 6 is no slouch right now anywhere....good work picking up a few. I will be up there in mid august...give a shout if you're fishing
  9. Same thing last night with boats. We are all itching to get fish. You got 1it more than we got last night.
  10. We started in 60. Went to 120. Marked fish heavily in 108fow at one point. Said heck with it and trolled east. Picked up a 6#good steelie on a 1/2 core magnum Kevorkian in about 60.
  11. Nice work! We were chatting on the radio this morning. Was pretty funny when you said 6 for 6 and a couple people got excited until you said sheephead and white bass.
  12. Thanks everyone for responses. Great to see some people lending a hand to everyone. Awesome group on here. I will be on 68 reporting as well.
  13. Thanks for the replies everyone! Some good people here to give advice. I will also be on 68 as long as I get out there in the morning.
  14. Taking a friend out hopefully Thursday morning. Looks like a few reports from morning trips. Was planning on heading to 80fow and dropping. Anyone have a good suggestion to get someone on their first lake Michigan fish?
  15. We marked good fish in that area but no takers. Nice work!
  16. Don't be knocking the sheep herders. Makes a slow night a little more interesting.
  17. Went out with the wife and kids tonight out of Holland. Dropped in 60 due to all the fish we were marking from 35 on down. Trolled out to 100 and back into 40. Finally hit 3 sheephead in 40fow to get the kids some action. Marked fish and bait in 40, 60, and 90fow but no players. Ran surface spoons all the way to riggers on bottom, copper, flies and spinnies. Talked to another boat in lake Mac with nothing. Had a great evening with the family though. Wife got a little green so that's why we only made it to 100fow.
  18. Awesome job on that triple!! What depth down were your lures?
  19. Sheepies are fun on their initial runs but tire quickly. Still fun when nothing much is going on or when we can't run deeper due to kids
  20. Headed out with my good buddy and my 3 kids (6, 4, 2) for their first trolling adventure. Started south from the pier heads in 25fow and within 2 minutes of dropping a downrigger it was ripping off line....landed a few minutes later. Trolled south probably a mile or so and turned back North in 14-20fow and had the same rigger go off set 15' down. Then had a high line planer go off and a 3 color go all nearly back to back with a double in there. All fish were nice 8-10lb Sheepshead....sorry to get ya'll excited but my kids thought it was a blast and I had to see how they behaved in the boat trolling before we ventured too far out for salmon. 2 year old slept, other two were ready for rods. White spoon on the rigger, purple spoon on a high line, copper boy/girl on 3 color. My buddy said he saw a steelhead jump just as we left the pier head and there were at least 24 rods in the water on the north pier so someone must have caught a fish. Great morning though and the kids are ready to tackle the big silver fish that inhabit Lake Michigan soon!
