  1. Yep, those ciscos look nice but I just can't swing that. I've got plenty of holders laying around so I'll fit some in once I figure out where everything should go. Thanks
  2. I use the Frabill 32X41 net and it's nice to have one that big. I wouldn't go much smaller if you're going to be catching kings. http://frabill.com/landing-nets/powercatch-nets/8425.html
  3. Ok, after a year of searching to try and get a more kid friendly boat and 2 months of haggling to get the deal done I've finally got a new boat. Here she is: 93 Crestliner Eagle 236 with 96 Mercs on her, and now the fun begins on trying to decide how to rig her. As you can see, there's 4 riggers off the back and almost no rod holders for anything else. While I'd really like a tree for boards, I don't think I'll be able to until I get a hardtop on it (which might be a few years). I think I'll setup a triple or quad holders for boards near the front of the cockpit and then put in 2 dipsey holders in between. Anyway, feel free to share advice.
  4. If it surveyed well then you're probably covered for most of the things that are obvious. Personally I'd take it through it's paces on plane and see if it handles like you want. Also troll it way down and see how it sounds at its slowest speed possible.
  5. Yep, you're right Ken she looks darned good!!!
  6. I had an 18' Lund Alaskan which are pretty narrow and went out there twice this spring. The first time there was a little fog so didn't see another boat and that made me pucker some. Both times we were out for a few hours and catching fish but the wind kicked up and the waves started to grow so we packed up early and headed to shallow water. You're perfectly fine but keep a close lookout on what's going on. Sometimes you only have 15 minutes before it gets nasty and you better be well on your way in if that happens.
  7. That looks really nice Jon.
  8. +1 on the 250 copper but I'm not sure I'd do it at the expense of the 7 color. Some days that's done well for me. I guess I'd say look at your setup and do you remember taking many fish off the 7 color? If not then change it. Personally, I like having another shorter segment of lead. I usually go out with at least a couple 2 colors to use one for an swr and I figure I can always add a dive bomb to get it down lower. Hope this helps.
