  1. On my Eagle, there's two trim motors. Both are on the same switch on the shift lever. There's a fine tune trim for when it's down. About half way up it switches to the other trim which is a completely different motor and hydraulic cylinder but it does this automatically as I push the button. My guess you have a bad pump, or electrics to that pump from your switch. Look to see if there's another setup on the lower unit. If so, check to see if you get electricity to it when your fine tune tilt is all the way up.
  2. So, after the fiasco last week with the new boat I spent some time fixing it up. Who wanted a turn key boat anyway right? Like my neighbor said, I'm just using this as an excuse to get to know the new boat. Anyway, the fuel problem I had ended up being 2 things. The front tank had really nasty gas in it so I drained it and added new gas with some seafoam until it came out like it's supposed to. The back tank wasn't getting a good siphon so the motor would bog down when it went into high rpm's. I thought the fuel line was bad so I tore into the boat with full gusto. Well, found it was actually just the bulb that went bad but since I was already in deep with the floor, and the lines looked really bad, I decided to replace them anyway. Here's the old lines: And here's the new line: I'm still getting a gas odor from the front tank so maybe one of my other connections leak a little, or there's a pin hole somewhere. For now, looks like i'll use the back tank until the offseason and tear into her again.
  3. Very nice job, it's nice to see they're listening.
  4. Great news about the boat except for that tranny. Get it figured out for the rest of the year!
  5. Certainly raises some questions doesn't it? Since i just bought a bigger boat, I sure hate the doom and gloom outlook but things are changing. As to the empty stomachs, I think the past 3 years alot of my fish have had empty stomachs. That's almost a whole generation of salmon so I don't think it's too much of an alarm. Maybe they've just moved this year when in the past they were way out in the lake that nobody found them. At least we can hope it's something like this.
  6. Good post. I know my radio can monitor 2 channels so I always have it setup for 68 and 16. I honestly didn't know that some don't do that. Good question about the 68 or 16 call and it makes me think. It's also reminding me to check all my safety gear.
