  1. They did a segment on Michigan Out of Doors last week about cross bows, and I believe they did a little about youth crossbows. Maybe go to their website and see if you can find that segment.
  2. Don't laugh. I only carry 1- 10 color lead and 3- 20 lb. mono rods. I like to keep it simple.
  3. Bike Rack is sold. Planer mast is also spoken for. Thanks!
  4. Jess, I don't have a picture of the mast yet (it's at my parent's house with the boat) I can probably get a picture to you Tuesday. I'll ship to Ohio for ya. >>Pete.
  5. For me, it is my brother. We have hung out and he and I both love the outdoors greatly. We camp, hike, moutain bike, climb and enjoy just being outside. But my brother never picked up the passion for fishing as I have. Just last week, he called me and surprised the heck out of me by telling me he bought an all species fishing license and wants to catch salmon on Lake Michigan. Now, we fished when we were kids, but he hasn't been fishing since he was 12. So that is my motivation for this year. I love my brother with my heart and soul, and to have one more thing to share with him would mean one of the greatest things to me. We are scheduled to go out the weekend of May 6th. So please pray for some nice wave forecasts!
  6. Looks like a fish catching machine!
  7. Nice, Jim! You catch all of them south of the plant? We stayed north of the power plant.
  8. Hit the water early this morning along with 50 some other boats. What a beautiful day on the water. Was calm through most of the morning with a light breeze from the south. Started a troll north from the piers, then headed south after about an hour. Picked up one coho about a mile south of the piers in 38 FOW. 18' down on the rigger with an orange thinfin. That was our only fish of the day. Lots of boats out there, but still had a blast with my dad an wife. Boat did great for it's first ride on the big water of the year. Hope everyone else had a fun day as well. >>Pete.
  9. You're correct. Makes you appreciate someone who takes their time and is careful. That second guy reminds me why I do all my work myself.
  10. Stuff is still available, but I'll lower the price. Bike Rack: $40, Planer board mast: $100, Bow: $80, and arrow fletching jig: $10.
  11. Nice job! I love to see them coming out of South Haven. Hope the weather will cooperate for me this weekend, but not looking promising.
  12. Looks great! I too have enjoyed the progress on your project. It always means more when you do it yourself.
  13. With the season getting going again, I thought this thread should be revived. Lots of great posts on this thread. Everyone, please be safe and prepared!
  14. 1993 Tracker Pro Deep V17. Not much extra on it, but travels easy and is a pleasure to be on.
  15. You'll get em next time. Must have been nice to get out. Did the boat perform well for you?
  16. I got a new boat cover for this year. I want to make sure it lasts as long as it can. It is a nylon fabric cover and is in direct sunlight all day long. Do they make a UV blocker spray or some type of treatment to prevent UV breakdown?
  17. If that doesn't get the blood flowing, I don't know what will. Thanks for sharing.
  18. Good luck with the repairs Dave. That's why we have shake downs, so we can catch things early. Hope you're back on the water soon.
  19. Way to go Jarod! Nice to see them in South Haven. Now that I have my shakedown cruise out of the way, I might try it next weekend.
  20. Here is one of the biggest catfish my grandpa caught in Lake Huron. This one was caught while shore fishing sometime in the 1980's when I was a wee lad. This one was well over 10 lbs. and caught at Jenks Park in Port Austin (before it became so shallow and rocky).
  21. Welcome Louie! I grew up in Port Austin, but only fish there a few times a year. Hope you enjoy it here!
