  1. I think the idea is feasible. After losing many bass on crankbaits, I put the treble hooks on swivels and my spit out numbers decreased dramatically. It could work.
  2. I agree with Ben. If you look straight into an LED diode, you'll almost go blind. But they don't seem to project light as well as halogens.
  3. Think Spring! Yeah it's going to be a long winter. Hope the boat turns out like you want it to. I already visited my boat in storage, like visiting an old friend.
  4. I had to laugh at this too. One watt of electricity will produce 3.42 Btu's of heat. So that little heater is only putting out 5100 Btu's of heat at best. My dinky little two bedroom apartment I live in now takes 40,000 btu's to heat, and it is less than 700 sq. feet. Yes, electric resistance heating is "100%" efficient because there is no exhaust going up the flue, and I think that is how that get unsuspecting people to buy into it.
  5. Nice fish! Looks warmer where you are. Is it common for the redfish to have two spots on their tail?
  6. That's what my dreams have been about lately. Nice fish!
  7. Sounds like a great season to me! I made it out I think 4 times. Good luck to you next spring!
  8. My wife is from Munising and recognized all the places the video was shot. Thanks for the post!
  9. Wow, you have been busy! Great job on the birds.
  10. Jim, Thanks for all your reports, I enjoyed reading them. I am still holding out till next weekend to put the boat up. The weather has been too nice to put it away. Good luck to you and everyone else on your winter activities.
  11. I have Hodgman's as well and love them. I like the attached boots myself. I had a pair with slip on boots, and the constant on and off of the boot wore the neoprene on the heal and leaked.
  12. We don't get to see her as much as we would like, but she is hooked! That was her biggest fish ever. Hopefully next year, we can take her out more often.
  13. We only boated 6 fish this year, but here is one my 11 year old neice reeled in. About twelve pounds. Not sure who was more excited, me or her.
  14. Great buck. It's one to be proud of!
  15. Nice Buck! Looks like a big body deer too. You know what he dressed out at?
  16. That is one sweet looking rig!
  17. Good Job Scott. Glad to hear you picked up a couple of fish. That steelhead sounds like it was a nice fish.
  18. Thanks guys. The whole ethanol thing is the reason why I am replacing all the fuel lines (fuel pump too) before they go bad. I realized that all lines are original and probably, like was said, degraded on the inside. Will new fuel hoses (less than a year old) be resistant to the corrosive fuels?
  19. Well, it's time to replace the fuel lines in the boat. Was wondering is there a difference between automotive fuel lines and marine fuel lines?
  20. I meant 60 FOW. I'm Flyman on the radio. Heading out in a few hours. I'll report what I find later.
  21. Good Luck Scott. I too am hoping to make it out of South Haven after work Monday. My plan is to start in the 60's and work my way out. I do like the thought of targeting steel in the upper levels. If all goes well, I'm may go out Sunday night too. I'll let you know what I find.
  22. That's fishing. Our boat only made it out on Lk Michigan twice this year. We had one trip with four fish boated, which for us was the best trip ever on our boat (only been fishing salmon for about two years). The other trip yielded one medium sized lake trout. Then we tried Lake Superior in Munising Bay and ended with just one splake. Weather has been a problem this year for us. Seems like the waves always increased during the weekends, and with our small boat, we have few options. Top that with family and work keeping me busy and not too much time either. Still have the boat out for some inland pike and bass, but time is nearing to store it. I always look back at every season and realize, as long as I made it out, it was a good season! I hope everyone else had a great season too!
  23. We will be raffling some trips at work to raise money for the United Way. One trip they want to do is Charter fishing from Ludington. What are some good, reputable charters out of Ludington? The trip will be for next year and for up to four people. Thanks for any advice!
