  1. I have an Evinrude 40hp 2 cycle outboard with the oil injection fuel pump. I went to put oil in my tank only to realize my dad used my oil bottle to mix his fuel for the chainsaw:mad:. I managed to dump about an 1/8 qt. of 40:1 mixed fuel and oil before I realized what I was doing. Should I dump the whole oil tank (about one gallon) and start new, or will the gas in the oil not hurt anything?? Thanks.
  2. It's a Uniden President MC 480. It's old, but works last time I used it. Has the mounting bracket. Free to anyone who wants to pick it up. I live in the Portage/Schoolcraft area. There is a whip type antenna that goes with it. There is no connector on the antenna however. PM if you want it.
  3. Good job guys! I was out last night as well, but had to come in before we even set lines due to engine problems. Didn't want to get stranded on the pond.
  4. Thanks for the report. Hope to get out this week. Good job on the fish.
  5. Good Job boys! It was fun to listen and watch you reel them in!
  6. Thanks again for the help out there. It was a great night!
  7. Took a quick trip out last night. Ended the day 1 for 1. He came on a silver and blue J-plug, 95 FOW, 70' on the downrigger. Gorgeous evening on the lake! Calm, not much wind and the flies seemed to have stayed away. Even saw a meteorite enter the Earth's atmosphere in a beautiful green streak. Had the pleasure of talking to Ne-Hi and Eliminator last night. Thanks for the help guys! Our fish! 8lbs. Some nice pictures at dusk.
  8. Good job getting some action! Good luck with the trailer tire too!
  9. I use those with no clutch problems. I bought them used about 5 years ago. Only maintenance I do for them is when I store them, I leave the clutch loose. Keep them clean and the should be good. If they are already touchy, I'm not sure what is involved with changing the clutch. Good luck.
  10. I hear ya. My wife wanted a new SUV. She went for the Rav4. It is nice, but I always wondered why they were recalled for sudden accelertion. I found out when I cleaned the throttle body. I went to open butterfly valve and couldn't, because the accelerator is on a pot switch that sends a signal to an electric motor for the butterfly valve. Really?? What happened to the cable? How much more reliable can you get than a cable?? I miss her escort. Like you said, 40 mpg and a lot of fun to drive.
  11. I'm a rookie when it comes to salmon. I keep a log of EVER fish I catch with location, date, depth, water temp, air temp, water clarity, trolling speed, etc. I use that year after year and start from there and let history start me out. After that, just try seeking fish with the finder and hope for the best. I credit my log book for quite a few of my fish. Good Luck.
  12. I use the side imaging from Humminbird. Works great for finding bait. You do need to play with it a bit to get used to it, but it is great in my opinion.
  13. Now that is some fish porn! Thanks for sharing.
  14. Wow, that's great! I love the clarity of the picture.
  15. OK, I guess I lied. Went out last night and there are no depth contours for Lk. Michigan (at least in the South Haven area). It may have them for other Lk. MI areas. Sorry about that, still learning about this unit.
  16. Started the day trying for perch in front of the dunes and ended with two total. Marked tons of fish, but no takers. Water temps at the surface in 25-30 FOW were showing 55*F and the perch we did pull up were ice cold. We packed it up about 8pm and rigged for some trolling. Headed to 70 FOW and put a blue dolphin spoon down. Soon as the sun hit the water, BAM. My brother reeled in a brute 18lb. King! This was the first time my brother has fished since we were kids, and he ends up catching the biggest fish to ever enter our boat. He handled it like a pro too. Great time on the water. Sorry, no pics as of yet, hope to have some soon. Fish came in 60 FOW on an east troll straight out from the piers. Rigger was down 40 feet and our SOG was 2.4 with a surface temp of 73*F.
  17. Agreed. Still love 'em. You are undoubtedly seen.
  18. I finally went with that unit this year too. Haven't used it much so far, but it is great so far. I was fishing in yesteryear too with an Eagle that was 15 years old. The Humminbird was very easy to install and that HD thing is impressive. I was able to see an almost perfect picture of a weed stalk on an inland lake. The GPS is very accurate and I love the fact that it gives depth contours of Lk. Michigan out of the box. Haven't put Lake map software yet, but can't wait to try the unit out more and explore what it really can do. I recommend it. Good luck.
