  1. Looks like a nice day with some pigs out there:D Thanx for sharing:)
  2. We were thinking driving the boat to the port and back if possible. Driving the boat to Holland and staying night then driving back may be a possibility. Any clue how many miles that is? 30ish??
  3. Got a couple cousins coming into town tommorow and we are slipping in SH Tues night at least. Thinking about heading out weds morn and heading south to st joe or north to saugatuck and back in a day. Anyone ever done this? Is it feasible to do roundtrip in a day AM thru PM trip? Obviously weather dependent. Thought it would be cool and also get us to some bigger rivers. If not we may look into slipping at joe or saugatuck. Just not sure how easy to get slipped there. Any thoughts? Will be fishin somewhere from tues PM thru thurs Am. Give us a shout on radio if ur out there No Limits or Nee Hi. Cell 269-599-7420 Jarod
  4. Nice! Thanks for sharing. What did u troll with? Lake river or erie?
  5. Good catch. We never made it out. Looks like it turned into a nice night out there. TY for the report
  6. Area 51 is awesome Killer dolphin Craigs Christmas/ and reverse Hawg Wild All in Stingray
  7. Nice catch Terry, Sea Mac and crew. Way to hammer em. Thought about this morn but wasnt sure. How were the waves?
  8. If ya go bigger ya gotta fill em up or they will not be accurate on the counters and will take alot more cranks on the reel to get the same amount of line either way. Make sure u get the line counters at least on the dipsy rods. I LOVE my Convector 30 for wire dipsy and 55 for big copper/ leadcore. The big handles rock too. I have a bunch of Magda Pros and Classic Pros that were very economical and have all held up for leadcore and copper for me. The drags are not near as nice and i understand they wont last as long as others but they have reeled in some nice fish for me. Not a huge fan of them for riggers and definitely not for dipsy. If i had the money they would all be convectors or i guess for that matter tekotas. Just my .02 but im a weekend warrior too.
  9. Get out with as many seasoned vets as possible and see how each person does things. Each person does things different, so see what fits ur ways and u feel confident in. Then make it your program. Dont be afraid to experiment and leave the pack to open seas. Remember any day on the water beats a day at work;) Keep on truckin'!
  10. Great job SuperTramp. We couldnt get a plug to go the other day and u tore em up. Well done sir.
  11. Good job Frank and crew. Sounds like a good eatin mix there:stir:
  12. South Havens fish cleaning station is closed for repairs we discovered tues night at 11pm:(. There is a note with directions to a cleaning station by the coast guard aux station. We went over there and this was locked also. Of course its really tight and no choice but to back out of there. What a load of BS, if i didnt have a season pass i would be looking for my $7 back.
  13. Ended 7 for 11 in the Nee Hi. 5 kings and 2 lakers. All kings were nice size as was 1 laker. Found other laker draggin on rigger. Wire divers out 250-300 with Mountain Dew SD w/ No See Um and Lg size Glow Frog SD w/ Kryptonite fly. 200' copper with MS Moonshine, Glow Frog SD w/ Kryptonite down 75 on rigger. Nothing on Jplugs at all but did catch a full core with a Jplug on it. First time my buddy caught fish on wire, he had a ROCKIN time! Lost the rest of the info in the mix. Had a wire/ copper twist with a fish on each and landed them!!
  14. The fish that it catches are fun. Full core isnt bad, its starts getting a little long after that. My 300' copper is same length anyways. Just my .02;)
  15. Nice catch Jimmy. Thats a fine day on the water right there.
  16. Frank, I absolutely love the Blacks for salmon. They are top notch and adjustment is great. Never used for walleye but if they worked for that, picture them salmon slamming.
  17. Many a balloon here too. One had our last 2 fish to limit out under it. Also a tag from a kids birthday asking to call. They released a dozen. Havent seen a log since spring but the scare the crap out of me knowing one could be out there in the dark:eek:
  18. Ended up 16 for 21 Sunday night between 3 of us after a little help from my fellow friends. We headed out to 245fow straight out and turned north. Stayed on that line til darn near Arcadia. Ended with 1 steelie, 3 lakers, and 12 kings. Most kings were well into the teens. One king released. What worked- 120' down on rigger, 200', 250', 300' 400' copper, 10 color - pearl/crush glow big paddle - blue bubble flasher/ matching fly out 250' on wire mag dips w/ mag ring on 1.5 setting - MS blue ,MS green flounder pounder, MS Sarge - blue chilly willy fixed slider about 100' down - Mag Mixed Veggie - Killer Dolphin These are what I remember. Never took a bite on J- Plugs. Awesome time for 3 guys first time in Manistee and maiden salmon voyage for my cousins boat-- No Limits:p Fishfinder depth went out at 7pm but finished without OK. Fished for about an hour Mon morn with 2 more kings then headed home. Thanks to all that gave advice. Will definitely be heading there again!!!
  19. Nice catch Ken. Looks like some nice fish in there. Way to go!
  20. Thanks to all for the help. Looking forward to a great trip with a few fish i hope. Will post reports as always. Is it time to leave yet:rolleyes:
  21. Heading up to Manistee Sun Aug1 PM trip and Mon morn trip. Never fished out of Manistee and just looking for basic info about area. Things such as were the shelf is and any other landmarks or hazards to look for. Will be on my cousins boat but just give the Nee Hi a shout on ???? channel that is monitored:confused: Thanks in advance for any help guys!!!
  22. Congrats on the win. It was a rough one out there. We stayed in Muskegon and had the storms moving north and south of us. We lost a lure on first hit, down to 8 rods :<. It was tough fishing. We(Steve, Mike, Nick) ended in 9th with 4 fish. Got to see some familiar faces and win some prizes. Great catch, great win, and a great tourney!
  23. Its been a few years but if memory serves me correct it is gated off until they open it in the morning. That was 4 years ago and there was a line up waiting in the morn. Not 100% positive to these details.
  24. Thanks for the report thats an awesome job let alone solo. Nice fishing!
