Jolly Time Posted June 18 Posted June 18 Fished 6pm - 9:30pm. Went out and to the south. Found fish 145-170fow. 150-160 was the best. First fish - rigger down 90 meet rig. Hook set was not good. Lost it. Second fish 100 copper wonderbread UV mag. 10lb steelhead. Third fish - high diver #3 back 175 Dancing Anchovy mag. Great rip and fought it for a couple minutes and off. 4th fish - inside port mag dipsey #1 wire diver 11" paddle meet rig back 200 14lb king. 5th fish - inside starboard mag dipsey #1 wire meet rig 220 back 15lb king 6th fish - 225 copper moonshine bloody nose mag 10lb king 7th fish - 10 color Dancing Anchovy uv mag. Small guy. Ended up 5 for 7. Meat was working. Go deep! We marked fish pretty much all night between 145-165fow. Most action happened the last hour and a half. Stomachs of fish had large alewife in them. 8
littleboat Posted June 18 Posted June 18 Good report. Some very nice fish in that crowd. Larger fish are starting to appear!I wish meat was less expensive. Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman Mobile App 1
John's Tuition Posted June 18 Posted June 18 Meat is free, Ed. Just need to grab your cast net and/or some Sabiki rigs and head to the pier in early June. You already know how to fillet fish like a pro. The curing process is easy. I like to food saver them but most just keep them in Tupperware. 1
zgrinder on Fin Warrior Posted June 18 Posted June 18 Nice cooler of kings. We also saw our best action with wire dispeys in 148FOW; did not get out quite as deep as you did since I marked a lot of fish in 125 the night before. Thanks for sharing that they are feeding well! Glad I have been throwing those smaller guys back to eat up. 1
SeaFoam Posted June 18 Posted June 18 That’s some good fishing. Thanks for sharing. Looks like the meat rigs are starting to hit. Sent from my iPhone using Great Lakes Fisherman
