  1. Good work! I dropped off 6 reels at Tackle Haven to get upgraded drags. They work with mascot reels. First time I’ve done it so not sure how it will work out. Sent from my iPhone using Great Lakes Fisherman
  2. The one whitefish confused me. I am even worse at walleye fishing than I am at salmon. The night bite is a good tip though. Sent from my iPhone using Great Lakes Fisherman
  3. What fish are you targeting? Sent from my iPhone using Great Lakes Fisherman
  4. Count me jealous! My boat is in storage. Sorry the seas were tough for you though. Off to Menards to buy PVC pipe to make a better pole rack. Sent from my iPhone using Great Lakes Fisherman
  5. Trolling cranks or jigging? Sent from my iPhone using Great Lakes Fisherman
  6. Ha! I went to Outdoorsman Pro in Jenison last winter to pick up a few lures and such. The guy asked me if I was still out trolling. I said no just spreading out the purchases so my wife doesn’t think my addiction is too severe. [emoji3] Sent from my iPhone using Great Lakes Fisherman
  7. Had a little time mid morning so I went out solo and trolled 10-1 pm. Put in at 100 FOW. Trolled out to 160 FOW then back in to 90 ft. Marked a good amount of bait and fish at 130 FOW. 1/1: 6 lb Steelhead, 125 FOW, SWR down 65 ft, brad’s cut plug candy corn with Alewife gel scent. Only a couple of boats out made for a relaxing troll. Still a lot of current to deal with.
  8. I went out this morning and fished from 130 fow to 160 and back. No action. Pulled lines at 8:15 am. Waves were over 3 ft at 140 fow. Tough sledding for a solo run. Lake laid back down at 50 fow. East wind challenges. Sent from my iPhone using Great Lakes Fisherman
  9. I fish solo a lot as well. Wearing a life jacket at all times and having shared your plan with someone on shore are musts. I wear an auto-inflating life vest every time. If I stay out longer than my plan I text my wife. When I return and enter the break water I text my wife so she knows I am off the big lake. Seriously considering a wireless kill switch as well. 10. That’s just glorious. Well done! Sent from my iPhone using Great Lakes Fisherman
