  1. Nice work Jason...Great batch of fish you got there.
  2. See, i told you he could fish. Remeber how worried he was about living up to the hype about how good a fisherman i said he was when he first joined? Now look at him, leaves half the gear home and still fills the box. Way to go Jay!
  3. I agree, with the cold water theyre hanging up high. I just talked to a friend of mine that lives on the east side and he said theyre absolutely slaughtering them. Said he's got fish in anywhere from 4-15' of water...He did say theres allot of small fish though....But, as long as somethings pulling the string, thats all that matters. Weather looks great for this week. Temps in the 70's and even 80's by weeks end. Lows are in the 50's as well. Water should heat up more and so should the fishing.
  4. Well, things finally worked out and i was able to get out on the bay for the first time since March. By far the latest start ive ever had on the big pond. Anyhow, on Firday we managed to boat 14 on the maiden voyage. Yesterday, we landed 9 in the cold wind and waves early in the day. Water was allot dirtier yesterday from the overnight NE blow. We had to move to get back on em....Didnt slay em, but we had a great time....Good to be out again. Fished in 14-18' of water. Pulled our fish up high. 15' back with 1 oz. inlines and harnesses as well as 1 oz. BB 25' back on Friday. Chart, lime green beads w/#3 Northland Indiana blades w/spoon ahead of the harness 12" was the best rig the last two days. Another good harness was bright orange beads and tangerine beads with a #3 French blade in Black with yellow dots on it. Orange beads with #4 colorado orange baitfish blades also took fish. Productive speed was 1.2-1.4 for us....Water temps were 61*-63*.
  5. Nice work Frank....Ive never been on that side of the coin, but i have towed in a few myself. And talking to those that i have towed in, its not a great feeling...Nice to see good people out there....Way to bro!
  6. That sounds like a perfect series of events if you ask me...Nice job on the fish and GO WINGS!!! 2-0 in the series, lets go get em in Pittsburgh!
  7. Normally i would jump at the chance to fish this tournament, but the way things are going i just dont know that ill have the time. Im laid off right now and would have all the time in the world, but ive been busy helping my good friend with his farming since he is so far behind with the wet spring. Otherwise id be fishing like crazy right now and would gladly participate. I know full well this would be a great time. Members here are extremely good folks who are always willing to lend a hand. When you have folks like that, it can only result in a great event. Looking forward to next years event, hopefully ill be able to participate in that one. I think its a great service you do Mike...Much appreciated.
  8. Nice work Frank. The fish pump isnt getting a break at all in Augres!
  9. Cant beat that with a stick. Gill fishing is something i absolutely love to do...and theyre pretty tasty too!...Nice job out there.
  10. Thats a pretty good comparison Mike. The scaler part is about the size of a hot dog in diameter, is covered with these square nobs, is about 4-5" long and has a gaurd on the backside to keep the scales from peppering ya. Below the scaler portion is a rubber handle that you hold. You can zip through the gills and perch with one of those bad boys.
  11. Nice work...Thats a great report out of Ludville.
  12. Good job team Grumpy Old Men!....Nice whitefish too...Those are tasty!
  13. Nice work guys...Great fish. As far as Franks table, i would guess thats one of those old school fish scalers hanging from his cleaning table. We used to have a Bear Claw i think it was called. They work pretty well.
  14. Nice work...Kids look happy with their nice fish!
  15. Just so we're clear, my mention of tribal fisherman has nothing to do with race, it is purely stated because i dont want the things that are happening in Manistee to happen here....Nets being left out and lost, poorly marked etc...you all know the mess. My problem is that their governing body has allowed it to continue yet again this past winter and problems ensued this spring. Things like that just cant happen. Not good for the fishery, public health or fair to those that put money into the sportfishery to make it what it is. And at this point, theyre not really even in the conversation. But, when one netter gets in the door, theyre all gonna push to get in, despite Dana's limited netting study proposition. Thats all im getting at...Dont need a snowball effect here.
  16. I completely agree Dan...Once they got their foot in the door, then everyone will want in. Ecspecially the Natives now that they have a foot hold on a marina well within the Bay. Would be a great base camp for them to some prime fishing waters....No No and No is where i stand.
