  1. WTG Dwayne. Love them yellow bellies.
  2. The East Tawas Pier and Oscoda on the Lake Huron side are good spots. Wax worms on a #6 or 8 hook with a light action rod, and 6# test line. Some small split shot above the hook and a slip bobber. A long handle net is a must. It's all about water temp but the runs seem to coincide with the rifle deer season. I think the water temps need to be close to 40 degrees. GL
  3. Isn't funny how a thread will wander. Love it. When butchering a hog, the only thing that isn't used is the SQUEAL. Some of the products or practices go way back to a time when an extra few ounces of protein would make the difference of life or death.
  4. Welcome aboard Gary.
  5. GJ Burt. A good ending to a GR8 season.
  6. They look like killers to me.
  7. GJ. I like that area and used to fish it a lot. One Spring my son and I caught 28 in 2-1/2 hrs drifting a 300 yd stretch at the mouth of the Titt. Of course this took a quite a few drifts. Most of the fish were released without even boating them. We would grab the jig with some pliers, and give it a twist. Thats one thing about jig fishing, 90%+ seem to be lip hooked. I do miss the jigging river fishing, and may just get back into it. Thanks for the report, it brought back some fond memories. Have you ever went just a little upstream in the Cass?? I'm not sure if it's even possible anymore.
  8. GJ Duane, WTH!!! even if they are coming slow, what beats a day on the water??? Nothing tastier than them yellow belly perch.
  9. Anton, I PMed you a link to that eBay co. They don't have any listed right now, but you could contact them. It seems they get a lot of Pro Troll's stuff to auction.
  10. Anton,Good to see you back. You may try eBay if someone is willing to ship to Russia. There was one company out of California that was selling some Apex Lures cheap on eBay.
  11. It looks like a nice get together.
  12. Love the trail cam shots.
  13. It's always a better time when you involve the kids. He will remember that hunt for the rest of his life.
  14. I would add two more flush gimbal type rod holders where you want the forward riggers and mount them individually. I would mount the rear riggers in the existing rod-holders and have them angled inward slightly. On most days you would probably only run the rear riggers and the out and downs could be removed and a triple rod holder set up could be dropped in the flush rod holders using a gimbal adapter. This set up would be easier to stow than a board and you would have a clean look, when none of it was in use. The track systems are nice also. The reason for suggesting the gimbal setup, is you are half way there.
  15. I'm glad you made it up there. When the walleye get lockjaw it can be real tough. Slooooooooooow is the name of the game when the are finicky. I hit em hard Spring through Summer, when they are more aggressive. Did you try jigging any minnows, or minnow heads? Better luck next time Ken. That's a beautiful sunrise.
  16. Jobsite, Welcome to the site. Someone will ring in on this one. Do you fish the Saginaw Bay in the Summer? There is someone that uses the "Jobsite" handle and I think they are out of AuGres. A warm welcome to you again. Let me know if you need any help on the site.
  17. What Boomer said, only keep in mind there will be some unexpected repairs. Have the hull checked by an expert. If it seems all systems are a go, low ball it. It is a buyers market, and an offer can always go up.
  18. Acorns are extra large this year, a sure sign.
  19. I know a quite a few boats, including my own, that have taken some good numbers of walleye out of the Saginaw Bay the last few years. But similar to charter boats, the wealth is spread around. Just because a boat takes 500 fish doesn't mean it's captain has 1000 fillets in the freezer. I have fished with as many as 6 people onboard. I made so many trips with a lot of different people, that it's difficult to remember the details of each trip. This is a valuable resource and the limits should be enforced. I had riders suggest we do a second trip, but darn I work hard enough doing just one. Even if I wasn't all tuckered out, I wouldn't break the law. I love every minute I'm on the water. No one I know is able, or wants to fish as much as I do. I post for riders often. It's too costly to run my boat with less than 4 people onboard. If the numbers aren't there riders aren't as willing to go. I helped a quite a few youngsters boat their very first walleye. Dan makes some good points, posts honest reports, and has my utmost respect, but I had to add my 2 cents. Gitter Done and Good Luck to all that fish this FANTASTIC fishery.
  20. Congrats on the cat. VN Mount.
  21. The Gravely Shoal Light used to post a wave height report also. It hasn't posted a wave height in about a year. It's no big deal for me, as long as I know the wind velocity and direction. What we can deduce, from these two points on the bay, will be help tremendously.
  22. That's cool with the 10 minute intervals on reports. I check the Gravely Shoal Light for it's hourly reports. Some times the reports don't get posted. I like these tools that show actual conditions, because a lot of the time the NOAA forecast reports are WAY WRONG. Hats off to NOAA for a step in the right direction. A nice pic of #1 Buoy also.
  23. Thanks Mike. I like to take in a show or two. It's a great way to break up the long Winter. There are some GR8 deals to be had at these shows.
  24. WTG Captain Dick. I always liked that Big Sable Pt. area. I hope to see you or hear from you on the Sag Bay next Spring. Priority1 on the side on 68 out.
