  1. Mel D, Big Jack, Gary W, and Mike G, and I fished AuGres. I couldn't take any fish today because I had things going on, so we stopped at 19 and called it a day. BB, harnesses, 30-35 FOW, 1.5 MPH. Gitter Done.
  2. Tom more than likely I will NOT be out Sun, but ya never know. I'll hit it again tomorrow, and try to get out 3 or 4 times next week. Gotta Luv Dat Bay.
  3. Ken, I seldom change weights regardless of the depth, because these eyes are not fussy. I run 2 oz bouncers off the in-line boards and 3 oz over the side. We were running every thing about 55 back, except early we had a couple only 30-35 back. Heck I have run this program in 12 FOW with 2 oz bouncers only not as far back.
  4. RogerH69, Gary W, Big Jack, and I fished out of AuGres. Gary W. is Big Jack's son visiting from Findley OH. We worked a little but managed a four man limit farming 4 keepers and a couple of dinks. Bottom Bouncer and harnesses trolled at 1.5 MPH over 32-36 FOW. Purple, Pink, and glows were our best producers. Our last three fish took awhile to get but we caught a little flurry and finished up. We had about 4 or 5 fish hit the blades and just let go. I think a strong spoon program would have done some damage also. Gitter Done
  5. Good Job Tom.
  6. Capt. Ken, Thanks for the report. They are blooming here. I have noticed that over the years. Priority1 out.
  7. That is great. It don't get any better involving kids in our sport.
  8. One cabin boy graduating to helmsman. ^5s Hunter and Wyatt.
  9. A Steelhead is a Rainbow trout gone wild. There is a pretty good fish ID in the booklet that comes with your fishing license.
  10. Tim, GJ on the fish and a warm welcome to the GLF site.
  11. Low light conditions for the walleye even dark.
  12. Todd, GJ out of the Joe. Family, Fishing, and Fun. It don't get any better than that. Three generations onboard.
  13. Mike, Fantastic Fishing.
  14. You can use bouncers, rubber core, snap weights, inline weights, to get the harnesses down. A couple of in-line planer boards would help. Houghton Lake is very shallow. You will likely be fishing in 12 FOW or less. Your best bet is to go with a local to shorten the learning curve. A local bait shop could also help you. One ounce weights or less should be plenty for there.
  15. Drew, Thanks for the report.
  16. Scott, That is a sweet ride you have. I think you were spooking away the walleye because you didn't want to slime the new boat. I'm glad we finally got to meet. YW on the whitefish. When I got home I fixed the one I caught the day before.
  17. Way to shake em down Marty. It will just keep getting better.
  18. Phil, Good advice above. The Seafoam is a great product. If the fuel hose is original CHANGE IT. They can look great from the outside but the new alcohol fuel eats the old lines from the inside out. Small particles of rubber can plug filters and carburetors. A deteriorating fuel line can also be hazardous.
  19. John, You are welcome anytime. The wind makes it tougher to run them. We had a few minor tangles Sun. Usually we just bring in the tangled ones, take the boards off, and everything separates. We pull 12 lines almost every day.
  20. My son uses standard spinning gear and trolls harnesses just off the weeds near the N shore. Casting Eire Dearies or jigs with crawlers or twisters will also work. Mephs Spinners, Dare Devils, or similiar baits work well also. You may just get a rude Northern trying to beat a walleye to the bait. Look for all the pontoons early and late in the day.
  21. John, Way to shake and bake man. Gitter Done.
