  1. Your steelhead looked like the one in caught Friday, really skinny. There is no meat on him at all. I wonder what is going on with them. I've never seen them like that before. It's like the kings aren't letting them near the table. Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman mobile app
  2. Great day. Loved that triple action you had! You'll be cleaning fish for a week! Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman mobile app

This steelie looked skinny as a rail there was hardly much meat on him. Thought I was scrapping a carcass. Board lines did not produce any hits. But the deep rigger lines gave the fish time to cross the board line several times, but I untangled them Waves were slow and rolling Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman mobile app
  4. I think you're right. I should have hit my shots low and into the wind yesterday and gone golfing. Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman mobile app
  5. What a story. Glad you made it back. Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman mobile app
  6. I extend to you the Bumps are US membership. Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman mobile app
  7. Is your track across the stern or on the side (port/starboard)? When I use mine, it's mounted on my side track with a track extension ( much like pulling wire for walleye on a river). I can rotate it to wherever I want to watch. I also made it portable to switch between my boats. Not enough room on my stern to mount it. Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman mobile app
  8. Great catch! Bumps are us club. Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman mobile app
  9. Nice catch! Good effort with good results. Love those extra lures. Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman mobile app
  10. Fished solo 5:30- 9am, 90-130 fow, 1/3, lost 2 getting them to boat, but got one 8.8# king on an 8C with dragon slayer SD and grn white fly. Very bumpy entire time . Called it at 9am. Hope it improves for the night shift. Two misses on rigger with bloody nose mag. Ball Down 60 Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman mobile app
  11. BIG KINGS! Congratulations! Currents have been crazy lately. Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman mobile app
  12. Good action and strategy. Nice king! Solo fishing is quite challenging. I feel like a hunter with his pole(rifle) in a moving tree stand(boat), waiting to get the big king.
  13. Great catch. Very good scorecard. How is your livescope mounted and facing? Is it on a pole so you can adjust to the front, side or back of boat or is it fixed like your other transom xducers? I use one on my littleboat when I'm fishing/ jigging/pitching the Detroit River river or muskegon lake for walleye. But i didn't find it as effective on the big lake for trolling. I'm glad your having success with it. Keep it up. Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman mobile app
  14. Timing is everything. Good luck for all the evening boys you owe me. I sucked up all the wind this Am. Catch some big ones tonight! Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman mobile app
  15. Hopefully, it will settle down for the evening crowd since I took all the wind out of it today! Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman mobile app
  16. WINDY!...WINDY!....WINDY!!! Forecast off by 3ft. Had very choppy waves, spun my boat around twice in the turns. Current varied alot straight run went from .8 to 3.5 mph when originally 2.4 speed was set. Fished solo, 5:15am-8:am, staying close to shore because of the wave action. Trolled 55-65fow, 1 for 3, 8.8# king again was my only prize today. Lost big hookup in a turn trying to bring another one in. Third was a fly by on rigger. 1-king 8.8#, 5:41am, 8C with bloody nose mag rv. N trl 9 color miss with wonderbread mag. (Heart breaker) Blow by on rigger with flounder pdr. No hits on high diver with dragon slayer & blue-green fly Quit early, too hard to maintain balance while solo. Cleaning station report 90-115 fow was were better action was. 17. You're right, I definitely would have waited for a better day. The forecast has been well off target lately. Unfortunately, by then, I'm usually passing the pier heads. Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman mobile app
  18. Good to know. Congrats on the fish! Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman mobile app
  19. Saw you at the cleaning station, you were just finishing up when I got there. Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman mobile app

  21. Fished solo 5:30am-10. Three foot waves almost the entire time. 2/6 both kings 8.1 & 8.8 lbs. Best depth was 100-110 fow. Waves were from the south. Of course, I was going south when I caught both fish. What a pleasure it was getting beat up. Only one tangled today when the last king took the diver with a flasher and fly into the starboard rigger. Went thru my usual routine of cutting the rigger rod line and carefully separating the braid from it. Lost fishing time, but it all turned out ok. 1- king, 7:09am, 8.8#, on rigger slider Green Goby std, ball depth 80 in 109fow. 2-king, 7:57am, 8.1#, dragon slayer flasher with grn/blue fly on low diver back 170 Humidity was really starting to build when I called it a day. 22. Love them battered spoons, they always produce. I'm glad you and your son did well. Once you went in, it went to 3ft almost all the time. I got tired of getting beat up out there and decided to call it a day.. Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman mobile app
  23. Fished solo, 5:30am-10am. 2/4 both kings, 70-85 fow. #1 king 10.5#, flounder pounder mag, rigger down 73, 2.3sog,N trl, ball temp 51, 5:42am. #2 king, 5.86#, happee meal RV std slider, rigger down 74, 2.4 sog, N trl, ball temp 51.7, 5:43am. 2 other misses on riggers. Rest of story: Lost an hour of fishing at prime time as the two fish hit a minute apart crossing my rigger lines and diver. I had braid tangled into the swivels on the lures and wrapped onto outboards. Finally had to hold on to the dive braid with one hand cut it and tie a granny knot. Retread the line thru the diver rod eyes. Similar operation on the riggers. Had another bite but had to let it go. Waves were 3 ft and I was having a hard time maintaining my balance. What a mess. Finally clear it up, with only a bite a blow by. No more fish bit after that. Great day! I would do it again, once I repair my lines. Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman mobile app
  24. Great scorecard! Sent from my SM-A156U1 using Great Lakes Fisherman mobile app
