first one we took 24 labor hours to get installed there are other places it could be installed that would greatly reduce the labor but we wanted this to be hidden and the most fun / functional
all to components to put this together including fuel tank copper fuel lines and the air ducts vents thermal wraps 3700.00 this number with some foot work could probably be compressed we where under some time constraints to get this done and had no time to do a lot of shopping there are also some less expensive models and manufacturers but the esbar heater is widely used and has the best reviews from people that have had other brand heaters

Hi Frank,
Looks like you have something clipped to the herring strip. What is it?
Thanks,
Rod
yes this is after 3 fish / and the amazing part that there is still any thing there let alone how tore up it is
These where the thick cut strips we had custom cut last year
fish on Erie dearie or killer bee none of them will take the time to cut these again the tell us when these are gone no doubt they are gone for good
they where a perfect fit / balance for the mag and super mag heads and the large double treble owner hooks
the thin strips to get the rite balance you have to put two of the strips into the heads
check out this video

jut finished a espar heater install on a 220 hewes craft hard top
wow lot more work than expected but man is this thing nice
thermostat on the dash controls it all just set it and forget it
the vents on the dash are adjustable can be close to send more heat to the floor or directed to defrost the front or side windows
the tank is mounted on the rear where there are no kerosene smell in the cabin
The exhaust is in the bow and keeps the bow gunnels and a bit of the hull warm and stops ice build up in colder weather
here are some picture's

Well the technical aspects are many
But what may seem minor to many Can actually be major !! And major a expensive mistake
DO YOU REREALLYHINK THE OIL FILTER HONDA CHARGES 10 BUCKS FOR IS THE SAME FILTER YOU BUY AT THE BIG BOX STORE FOR 4 BUCKS IS THE SAME ???????????????????????
I have seen very few Honda power heads fail over the years yet a peculiar coincidence every one has had a aftermarket oil filter on it .
Now when Honda Printed its service manual for rebuilding power heads the put in print that some filters have been proven to lack certain technical aspect needed to match the oil systems engineering criteria that MAY cause major power head damage
My customers have told me they could not find a Honda filter and they needed a filer
for this reason I added The Honda marine oil filter to my on line store
Every one of these customers now buy the Honda filter's
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO
THIS IS NOT ONLY A HONDA SECRET
SECRET OWN A HONDA BUY HONDA PARTS ESPECIALLY FILTERS AND FUEL ADDITIVES
IF YOU OWN A MERCURY BUY THE MECURY STUFMERCURYITS A EVINRUDE BUT THE EVINRUDE
This is really no secret
But it is the cheapest insurance you can buy to keep you on the water up and running

What diameter does the copper have? What's the depth rate for this?
I will when i have a chance tie up some knots do the haywire twist and shrink tubing thing get the micrometer out and do a little post on this
I don't like quoting off a depth chart although blood run specs are usually spot on
I will always check my depths with a fish hawk td and rite my own depth chart
every lure and trolling speed will be a little different
a depth chart should be used as a benchmark some are much more accurate than other there are just too many variables
-
yes thanks for the correction
it is indeed 60lb not 50
-
We have the new 60ld blood run supper copper in stock
300 the 60lb = about the same as a 450' of the 45
While supply lasts for now we just have 300 on tekota reels left over from the shows
we will have spooling available as soon as we get our bulk spools in as well as the popular 1000' spools and the 300' single use spools
-
warrior makes a bunch of different size spoons these days
there new size standard spoon is not the std. size fish landers was
I am not positive but you might want to have a look at their "flutter spoons"
If this don't work send me a pm I can send you mike steffes cell phone number I am sure he can give the exact answer
-
I second the scotty stops works realy good on the big johns !!
-
I will have to call greg I just talked to him and forgot to ask him about this stuff we no longer carry the 32 no one was buying it
this is just another case where the fish hawk td will come in real handy to see exactly where your baits are running

more bilge pumps dies from fishing line than any other cause
with the cold weather cold water and guys with cabin fever thought it would be a good time to repost this reminder to
"check you bilge pump "
If you only have one it is ten times more important to check it a few times a year
WHEN IS THE LAST TIME YOU CHECKED YOURS ???????????????????
Remember that little piece of line you had to cut off and re tie the swivel?
Well here is where it ended up!
AND FISHING LINE IS NOT THE ONLY THING THAT CAN FOUL THE PUMP
the bilge should be vacuumed out every year or so to try to keep debris away from bilge pumps
you don't have to vacuume the whole bilge but the area around the pump will go a long way to keep you safe and dry
And it ruined the seal on the pump shaft and killed the pump
OH by the way the pump was down in the bottom of this hole Think you might be able to fix it on the water I serious doubt that!
The new pump will get a custom bracket on it you still wont be able to see the pump when installed but you can make a bracket so that it bolts to a place allowing easy access remove the bolts and then pull the whole bracket pump and wire hoses out where it all can be easily serviced
We will also be installing a second fully automatic pump easily accessible from the inside of boat

we sell 5/1 x4 fish hawks over the rest
seems to a great unit no coated cable to replace no antenna to go bad
-
yes we do
single set up are free spooled when you buy the stuff from us segmented sets are 25 bucks extra what ever flavor you choose
my favorite segmented copper is 25 floro 200 copper 100 30lb mono another 100 copper then 600 30lb mono
we will spool them any way a guy wants it
we use the hawire twist with the 50lb spo swivels and the shrink tubing
I can get regular copper but stock the super copper 45 lb or any other thing you might want on a reel
easily 90% of the reels that go out the door are spooled up with some thing
we use a trilene machine that is as accurate as it can get other than taking the copper to the local foot ball field
-
that's sounds like the old round rack from mercury
replacement cables are available rack parts are not but the cable alone its cheaper to just change it out to the new style flat rack and a new helm gear with new steering wheel
-
the new ukon coolers are awesome but pricy still less than a yeti and made in the usa
you don't have to buy a special bad lock to lock it
you will never replace a hinge on one of these bad boys
-
check out the video link above turn up the sound
nothing sounds like a big block V8 caddy motor
-
not just the expensive stuff was the biggest deals
The Garmin electronics booth was packed the whole show the new stuff from the high end all the way down to the new small fish finders was drawing in the masses every one came a way with WOW effect
The new humming bird 360 system was up and running and also quite a wow
The trend in boats sure seems to be bigger boats with multiple bigger out boards
when you asked the manufacturers they all seemed to have the same reply
It just makes good sense in the long run out boards are easier to change and these days burn less fuel if you have a problem and want to get it going fast just change out the whole thing
One thing we found most impressive at this show as not the big high end thing but a little 16' boat built for two people that rode better than more than a few
27' boats we rode in and boat motor and trailer price (WITH 50HP HONDA) WAS 15K BRAND NEW
but the big expensive **** is still cool to ride and look at.
-
demo ride video
the one I got to ride on this year had a pair of these motors
there is really no need to go full throttle
the power torque is truly amazing to feel it shift like a auto trans in a car was different in a cool sort of way the eng. rpms dropped way down and so did the fuel use
-
Just when you thought you seen it all
go to the Miami boat show
and there it was
the biggest outboard on the planet !!
557 PROP SHAFT HP
to get this you have to start with a 6L Cadillac all aluminum super charged power head
Then dress the motor up with some high flow exhaust headers and marine cooling systems
then you have to put it on a two speed transmission because there is no single pitch prop that will hold down this HP
Then you have to wonder what kind of lower unit can handle all that HP
well here it is
now the final question what the heck king of boat needs all that motor ??
you would be wrong if you guessed a race boat
how about a center console fishing boat for king fish tournaments !!
LETS GO FISHING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
walleye boards steel pin fix
in Equipment Inventions/Modifications
Posted
I am not sure I will have to check
we been making these about ten years now any one know if the old std."THE WALLEYE BOARD" use the same plastic pin as the tx44
I know this is a 1/8" diameter stainless steel pin 3" overall with a 3/4" handle on the top the e clip groove is machined in 1" from the bottom end of the pin
THE 90DEG HANDLE ON THE TOP MAKES IT FASTER AND EASIER TO RELEASE THE LINE YOU DONT HAVE TO GRAB IT WITH TWO FINGERS
ONE FIGER UNDER THE HANDLE POPS IT LOOSE QUICK
