Roller trailers are nice make cranking up a boat easy
but should NOT be used on a ramp that cant float the back of the boat
it’s all about floating the boat!!!!
Does not matter if you have a roller or a bunk trailer its all about floating the back of the boat where all the weight is
there is a big danger of some serious damage to boat that low water can expose us to
the back of the boat NEEDS to float off the trailer regardless if its a roller trailer or a bunk trailer if the back of the boat dont float up find another ramp regardless if its a roller or bunk
recently we have had some customers (more than one) and friends with roller trailer cut their boats loose on roller trailer in water that was not deep enough to float the back of the boat as the weight come off the trailer the stern tilts down gets jammed in the sand rip’s the transducers off damages the stern drive transom bracket bends the transom on some aluminum boats some just get stuck
But what makes it especially bad then they find out their insurance co has a exception for dropping the boat on a launch ramp that they clain tecnically is what has happened in the shallow water
OUCH!!!!!!!
a bunk trailer tends to sit lower and usually a boat won’t come off on a ramp even if the front line is cut loose roller trailer should be considered a advantage in retrieving a boat more so than launching in shallow water
hope this post can help some of the members here avoid a potentially
BAD DAY!
think spring !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Dave
can you help clear up some of the rumors circulating that you and some of the old gla staff will be helping the new owner in some form or fashion

we have some nice late model used boats
as well as new hewes craft
We try to fit any budget
the hewes boat itself is not expensive compared to a lund or any other quality aluminum we are used to see around here in fact they are as much as 30% less money
when you consider the average cost to bring a Hewes Craft here from Washington state on a Insured properly wrapped legal carrier is a average of 2500 per boat
The Cat hull boats we have pretty much given up on selling new they are just too expensive to consider a option in the economy these day they will give you a ride beyond anything a mono hull boat can do its just the nature of the beast
All in all the budget is and will always be the most important consideration in any and all boat purchases have fun with the shopping and please if there is anything we can do we are here to help you have fun on the water !!!
and thank you to our loyal customers and friends for mentioning out products and services in threads like these

RUN IT IN
BEFORE YOU PUT IT IN
no leaks or dripps allowed
-
call interlux fisrt
they will probably ask you to email pictures
there was probably a lack of surface prep or a problem with the appilcation temp
the manufacturers has very specific instructions to follow and some where some one fell short
then take this info to the shop that put the paint on
let us know how it turns out
-
usally side pannel stays in place
you remove shift handle and take the screws out that attach box to wall remove box frm back of the wall change the cables and reinstall
most boat there is enogh room to get this done with out removing wall itself

Biggest thing is finding the right bracket for the job. It has to have the correct set-back and still be structurally sound.
In this case we added a piece of SS Sheet Metal to the bracket in order to safely fasten the motor. Also we cut a semi-circle hole in it to adapt it to form the trim tab unit.
After installing bracket make sure before you mount the motor you have clearance in all directions so the motor is able to turn with no interference.
When this is all figured out mount the motor on the bracket. After the motor is mounted and everything is set to go head towards the water to get the boat wet and test out the install.
