  1. you will need to upgrade to a hyd helm with a slave steering cylinder in back

and because you have not power assist you will need a 2.1L or larger auto pilot pump to steer the boat while up on plane

you can get by with a smaller pump for trolling but if you want to use it running out to a spot a smaller pump will work but die a early death

with a hyd. steering up grade your options to good auto pilots greatly increases

all auto pilots have limitations what they can or can not do hyd units greatly improve trolling speed limitations

  2. this is a 22' prototype

not approved for sale in the usa

    certified for Canadian sale

there safety certification process is a little different than ours

there is a demand for this boat in Canada for commercial fishing not sure if we be applicable to a American market

if there is enough interest in it here we can get it certified

I rode in my self quite extensively the ride is amazing

    frank

    calumet marine

  3. Its easy to follow or copy

Its Not easy to Lead the way fish out side of the pack

But the results are often amazing remarkable and different

This ALL NEW boat sure looks weird but the ride was amazing

Also its ability to carry in the bow 2000.00 lbs of commercially harvested fish to the launch on the trailer and then to the fish market

    fast easy efficient and safe

    and great ride

may some day be available for recreational use if any one wanted to look a little different

but at calumet marine we are more worried about results than production capacity

Hewes craft has completely redone the sea runner this year not available in a production model until next year

some great improvements in the pacific cruiser

there is some thing for every one at this family orientated show

    fun for the whole family

check it out you might make it a annual event like so many others have

  8. on average 30% les than a lund of comparable size

the boat is not the expensive part

our average customer travels 450 miles too buy a boat

These boats are probably not for every one but people that use their boats appreciate there rugged roomy design no plastic on the dash no carpet on the floor

"built like a tank" is the most common comment when we ask some one what they think after seeing one for the first time

I hope to have the one in the picture above at the Berrien country fair in southern Michigan in a couple weeks we are sold out of 2013 boats and the 2014s wont be shipped for at least another month

no one has money to waste these days and all good new or used boats are expensive initially but in the long run these Hewes craft boats my be a much better choice for a lot of people

before you decide to buy any boat these deserve a look see

don't be the guy "dang I wish a would have looked at these before I bought brand X"

I hear it all the time

better yet let me get you out in a demo ride it makes a lot more sense than spending all this coin on a boat that you never got a test drive in

some day if I can ever sell my property in Chicago "really just on the Illinois Indiana state lie" = you don't have to go into Chicago to visit us from the east

I hope to open a new place in south west Michigan

I buy a few lotto tickets my self to help the moving expenses

    Frank

I do really appreciate your picture and your setups' date=' they are beautiful...just glad you are in Chicago where you might sell some of them because I know very few people in Michigan that have the coin to spend on those rigs....ah, if only I won the lotto.[/quote']
  9. tuning can make a huge difference

when we install all auto pilots we do the compass calibration

this has to be done on a relatively calm day little or no wind

this is the first and most important part of the tuning process

    BUT NOT THE END

at this pint the auto pilot will work

but gain and filters have to set and adjusted to get the most out of any auto pilot this has to be done a number of times in MANNY different weather/wind/wave conditions to get the most out a auto pilot regardless of brand or model

this will insure auto pilot will perform to the best of its ability

    and as many have said

be the best money spent on fishing gear

  10. July August and September

we will be rotating some boats thru our slip in the Hammond Indiana Marina and offering demo sea trails

    call frank for your appointment

We will have available by appointment

World Cat 270 Ht Honda t/225 powered

Hewes craft 260 pacific cruiser t/22h Honda power

Hewes 200 proV hard top 200 Yamaha powered

Hewes 200 prov hard top 150 Honda powered

  11. 3 man crew left the dock in Hammond marina around 3pm

headed straight out to 120 fow east in Michigan waters

a little bumpy at times but The word cat was just the boat for these conditions and a 20 mile ride out AND wow what a great time fish are getting bigger and bigger

we stopped in 90 fow and found water temp on top72 but only 69 on bottom

so we kept heading north east when we hit 110 a thermalcline developed about 65 feet down with temps on the bottom in the low 40s

most of out hit came on 300 copper dipseys out 300 al the way to the top

    fun was had by all
