  1. HI

    MILT

we are working on it rite now

there will be a period of having two places open

rite now the details are uncertain

but it looks like we have a great prospect

In Eau Clair Michigan (close to Benton harbor) but far enough away to avoid a lot of the problems we have in Illinois . We have already have started a small scale advertizing campaign and are working on leasing/buying some property

initially we are going to put some product up there and see what kind of traffic we can draw

I am getting to old to mess around it’s got to be now or never

any and all ideas are on the table I hope to hear from a lot of the members here on this site to hear what they need to earn their business I already have a lot of good customers up that way that i can depend on especially moving closer to them It wont make much if any differense to our on line store customers But to make a move with the economy the way it is these days its not going to be easy.

We are very conservative in nature and are proceeding with caution

  2. I have slept in it only a couple times it is roomy and comfortable

inside the cabin it has a great big clothes closet a full size bed side to side in the bow section a frig/freeze (great for keeping the meat rigs cold) a galley maid punp out head

The boat is desighned to go from miami to the bahamas spend week there (on the boat) and come back with out buying gas

World cat dont make any cabin models any more less than 29' or 8.5 wide like this one is

The price difference between the 27 and the 29 that has a 10.5 wide beam was minimal and they could not sell enough 27s to keep them in the line up

I have been a dealer for them untill recently they are great boats just too expensive for our market especially because they are not building many or any little ones any more they no longer make many trailerable boats or should i say trailerable with out permitts

I am considering replacing the world cat line with Steiger craft its a heavy deep V but you get a good bang for the buck

what do you guys think of Steiger craft?????

I will miss my world cat when it eventually sells

It has brought me home a lot of times when the weather has turned BAD on us

But thats the way the boat business is

    not good

i hope things will be better if i can pull off this move to Michigan iin the near future

i will snap some pictures of the inside of the cuddy cabin this week some time and get them posted for any one interested

    Thanks for looking

  3. Well this is what i ended up with

    270Ht world cat

    power steering and weekender package

    T225 Honda power

Float on 10,000 gvw trailer with electric over hyd disc brakes

Garmin 7212 rarad W/ active targeting ghc-10 auto pilot

    Garmin 200 radio

    fish hawk x4

    clarion 1500w stereo

2 traxs tech 8' trolling bars down each side

    2 big john brute riggers

    ;will upgrade to the new vector/traxstech as soon as they are out;

    cruise speed 40mph

tops out at 52+ mph depending on water conditions / weight in boat

troll fuel consumption on one motor .5 gph

best cruise speed 32mph we get about 4 mpg

wide open throttle we get about 1 mpg

    holds 200 gallons of fuel

Geat on fuel fast when you want it to be and handles the rough stuff like a boat 25% larger all this and trailerable

you are correct with the drive still on the boat air will come out the reseviour

as soon as the drive comes off their is a check valve that seals the drive

sory i assummed you had the drive removed from boat working on it

also a common place they leaK IS THE UJOINT SHAFT SEAL YOU ALSO HAVE TO HAVE THE DRIVE OFF TO BE ABLE TO INSPECT THIS AREA FOR LEAKS

  5. welcome

fish are allways going to be cheaper at the super market sea food department just not near as fun to bring home

The fish is not the only one that can get hooked in this game

    LOL

  6. Torpedo makes a very nice swivel tip that can be added to any rod in about ten minutes and a hot glue gun

Shamano rods are not expensive for what you get untill you get into the ones that have the swivel tips

I often buy the 8' shamano telora roller rods and put this tip on it

may be you can see it in theis pictures here they put a extra guide rite in front of the roller that keeps the wire deep in the roller all the time

    sweet set up

  7. finding a leak in a verticle drive assembly is as easy as finding a leak in a tire

oil has to be drained drive should hold 15psi of air pressure

we have a little hand pump that we pump up to 15 lbs let it set a little whiile gauge should not move

if it does we start spraying all the seals and shift shaft with soapy water

a good seal is only good on a good shaft surface porperly tourqued components

some times line can ruin not only seals but the arera od a shaft the seal rides on

a kicker does not have to have the prop all the way below the hull of a boat like a main motor does

usally if the bottom of the boat intersects the kicker between the prop shaft and the cavitation plate its about as good as it gets if the kicker is on a bracket with 8 or more inches set back the prop shaft is parrellel with the bottom of the boat this is a good place

often the problem is getting the kicker clear of the water when under power with the main motor this is just as inportant if not even more inportant than getting it deep enough deeper is better for real rough conditions but if its that rough do you want to troll for salmon?

send me a pm here if you might need a better understanding of what i am trying to get across here

there is no one way to rig a kicker motor. you rig them for sail boats completely different than a fishing boat

if you are going to use a auto pilot on a kicker there are yet another set of rules to apply to the best way to get it on there to work together well as a system

the most common mistake made is to mount kickers too low where they drag or spash water back into the boat while under way with the main motor
