  1. I have found that if you don't pull on the Dacron before you put the mono in it goes in easier.

  5. Great start Russ , saw you were out I guess you were more shallow than we were. looks like some decent fish. See ya on the water. Jim
  6. like it , just needs a little more time
  7. John here in Milwaukee I usually go on 1 to 2 charters a year, its nice not to have to drive the boat clean the fish clean the boat, be a gracious host . Its also fun to have a good time fishing. around here its runs from 400-600 also, and there is evening charters 3 hours (after work charters) which are cheaper. Its a great way to learn if you can afford it. Get a bunch of buddies together or family , we do 4-6 people and it runs from 70-110 per person.
  8. Well again can't get started on time , got to end this trend! Left the launch at about 9am trolling southeast towards the green can set the last pole and not five minutes later , a screamer on the diver , my favorite! Starboard dipsy set 2 out 75 ,Turned out to be a 17lb king . The next fish turned out to be the first Coho of the season , I don't normally send them back but it was only a mouth full. and it was full of vinegar. Then it was time for lake trout , the next one was only average but the one after which came on a 5 color pulling a pearl white storm minnow intimation. I asked Nick what was taking sooo long and he told me he couldn't gain any ground, hmmm check the drag and thats over tight already, must be a good sized fish. As it turns out it was a 16lb laker. picked up one more before puling lines. As I was pulling the last rigger, I snapped it out of the release and its another laker. How do these lakers just swim with the bait and not trip off the rigger boggles my mind. Got pretty bumpy on the way back in , not what was expected or predicted by the weather service. Great day to be out . Tight Lines Jim
  9. nice video , what kind of camera and mount?
  10. I run clear on my wires and I will be running orange when we fish for CoHO , other then that chrome for the browns .
  11. Lets hope that they are two different reels. I have nothing against the Magda pro but please don't change the convectors. The handles on the convectors are so much nicer, I have even taken 2 handles and put them on the magda pros .
  12. Thanks for the report , I like the way you take your photos and label it all for us to see.
  13. Thanks for the heads up with the articals. Very informative
  14. Welcome Todd ,Where abouts are you on the big pond?
  15. do you get the standard test alarms when you try to start, does it have a place for a lanyard? had that happen to me once . Check for fuel and spark , Thats where I would start.
  16. Wow its only the 25th of March? Made it out a little later than I would have liked but someone slept late on me again! went out to 50 ft heading east set lines , had 2 in and first rigger fires with the new spoon I picked up yesterday, 1st Lake trout of the season. finish setting the 4 color I was working on when the last one hit , and before I can set the rigger rod the 4 color I just set fires , Nick gets the first Brown of the day , 2 for 2 so far and now I get the time to put in the rest of the rods . Just after I finish setting we have a swing and a miss. Nick gets one more laker and I finished up with a real nice Laker than hit just as I was pulling the last rigger rod. Still can't beleave its only March. These guys from the Navy were out training today , wish the tax payers would buy me a nice boat like that. cruising speed is around 45 knots. Tight Lines Jim
  17. they want to fine WE Energies for allowing coal ash from the retention pond that went into lake Michigan, so why allow the Badger to do it all the time?
