  1. I have four I carry on my boat , I have used them just not taken any fish with them. You can bet that if the bite goes deep again this year I will have them out .
  2. I have 2 aspiring artists here but I had asked a year ago and it never did get done, I found a company that I bought some art work before do it and they were very reasonable. I could do it my self but I am thinking about having it done on clear vinyl and I will do the lettering . I am also having it screen printed for t-shirts and we will do the embroidery in house. The whole process is kind of a test to see how well it all comes out . If it works out we will be offering it to others. It was an adventure getting the art work company to understand with out talking on the phone. But once they had all the info it happened real quick.
  3. Jim looks like you did an awesome job with it . once you have it back in the water you will be smiling from ear to ear.
  4. Had some art work done to match the name I have picked out for my boat and I am looking for a little feed back . Do you like it ? funny? What do you think? I know that The colors didn't' come over correctly though. I think it was the compression on the file.
  5. Well Kevin you picked the worse weekend in the last 6 weeks to fish the harbor . Glad you found fish, they will be there until sometime in may. I have head of some big ones caught lately too. Just have to be there at the right time. Jason won't start posting until sometime in April. Just finished his classes on Salmon fishing. Reel nice guy. As for lake link sometime u have to read between the lines , Eric ,Jason and Grey beard tell it how it is. The others well? we have no Idea. If you need any Information on fishing the harbor or other areas in Milwaukee give me a shout and I will help you out where I can. Jim On a side note I pick the worst weekend to get my boat out of storage again, a blizzard once again, but its home waiting for the water now.
  6. Now take a 300 ft copper and add a 4oz dive bomb and you should be close to 100 feet down.
  7. I have not tried but if these are the copper rods and not the GLT Salmon rods you could do it but I wouldn't , I think the tips are too stiff for putting wire on these. I am looking to replace the wire rods I have when I have the money . I have the blue diamond roller rods and its too easy for the wire to miss the rollers . Are you just trying to save cash ? If you do it let me know how it works out.
  8. Thanks , here is the dive curve from Bloodrun on there copper. 32# Super Copper (.030 in diameter) After checking out the dive curves means I am right where I want to be. 25′ copper – 5 feet down 50′ copper – 10 feet down 75′ copper – 15 feet down 100′ copper – 20 feet down 150′ copper – 30 feet down 200′ copper – 40 feet down 250′ copper – 50 feet down 300′ copper – 60 feet down 350′ copper – 70 feet down 400′ copper – 80 feet down 450′ copper – 90 feet down 500′ copper – 100 feet down 550′ copper – 110 feet down 600′ copper – 120 feet down 45# Super Copper (.038 in diameter) 400′ copper – 90 feet down 500′ copper – 110 feet down 600′ copper – 135 feet down 700′ copper – 150 feet down 800′ copper – 165 feet down 900′ copper – 180 feet down 1000′ copper – 200 feet down
  9. Thanks Josh , a very well written article . Makes more scene to me now, and I should be fine with the Bloodrun 32lb copper I bought off your site.
  10. Ok guys for you that use copper , 30 lb or 45 lb and why. I bought 1000 ft of 32 lb copper and I hear that I should have bought 45 lb . and I am curious what works for you and why . Should I abandon the 32 lb for 45lb ? Is there a big difference?
  11. I turned them on one of my lathes. being that all the spools are different it was the only way . I had looked at Ace hardware and other places and I couldn't find any cone washers. The unit on my saw table is just the prototype , the counter is just loose right now. I cut a shallow grove in the counter on the lathe also so I didn't have to put sides on the the counter wheel . The reel in the photo holds 1000 feet of line , less than what is listed on the reel but more that enough for a rigger rod. The spool for despooling mono I also made on the lathe . it would be lower left in the photo. I have to make that bigger , it only takes 2 full reels to fill it up. It does work great for putting new line (backing ) on leadcore rods.
  12. I have made a real line counter for filling reels and can't be leave how off the reels are. The counters measures 1 foot for every 1 foot of line that goes on. With that being said so far 2 reels have not lived up to there rated capacity. This creates a big problem when trying to fill the reels to there capacity and getting it right. The last one I filled was 20 lb big game which is .018 and should be according to the reel 420yds 1260 feet. I had to cram 1000 feet on this reel. Are the numbers on the reels just estimates? I will be posting more pictures when I am done as the reel station is still a prototype and having changes done to it . I would really dislike having to fill reels backwards just to find out the real capacity ,then having to transfer the line to the other reel . But it would only have to be this way once for each type of reel I have.
  13. If you are worried about having tangles , spread out your spread horizontally and Like Mike Said don't turn that sharp. I ran 325 30lb copper last year on the inside of 8 color , never came close to tangling. Also make sure the rods your are running are the same type . Other wise the will make the boards run differently.
  14. Ok I have bought a fair amount of UV spoons , now how do I keep track of them. For glows its very easy , but UV how do you identify the UV spoons . I should have put a little UV on the back but is there a way to do it with out?
  15. Just awesome, you did an excellent job all around.
  16. this is what I am using for copper and leadcore. still have a few of the wilderness rods and they seem to work just fine.
  17. I spent a lot of time out there too, we made on trip out to 350. that was a long ride back. 16.5 miles. with the warmer waters we had this year , it meant having to go deep for a while.
  18. Are you talking about leader material or just fluorocarbon Line. There is a difference.
  19. I hope to bring the boat back out of storage in 6 weeks. unless I have back surgery. We will find out this in the next 2 weeks on that. I would much rather wait until the season is over rather than the start.
  20. Adam if we can hook up before then your welcome in my boat.
  21. one thing I have done is tightened up the adjustment on the kicker but I don't want the kicker fighting the main.
