  1. Not my video but , WOW won't you love to have a day like this. Cant' wait for spring!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Well when I was putting the boat away for the season I ran into another problem and I have to fix the cable behind the unit with the readout. It seams that after 2 seasons the plugs have come apart on both ends. I wish when we pay high dollar for equipment that it would last a good long time and not come apart. At least it was at the end of the season not the start.. I will most likely make the same antenna set up as you posted. With another cable and keep the other antenna on my manual unit. Only bummer is that I have to replace the clincher on the end of the cable.
  3. Someones not going to be too happy. Looking up at all the masts , kinda makes me say what were they thinking with all the power lines?
  4. Make sure the cable does not have any sharp bends or something pushing on it.
  5. Thats awesome Josh, I hope the winter goes quick , I'M already having withdrawals.
  6. You can say that again , I wonder how much I have in gear, including rods , reels, spoons , flashers flies, riggers, probes, cannon ball, locators, and don't forget self inflating life jackets. Nets , rod holders, rod trees, planer boards .Seams like every time I go to the store its another 100.00 .
  7. Looking to see how many of you use Tekotas , or Clairon, or Convector or others. I am looking for the good ,bad and the ugly for each.
  8. White paddle green oil slick , pulling a ITO KJ Fly, Spoons , DW Lemon Ice, Flounder pounder in blue and green. Froggy Glow, ice frog. no other real stand outs.
  9. One of the last times I was out this year I really thought about putting out a couple of extra rods, whos going to know right? well when I talked to another guy that was fishing near me in 250 fow , he had a visitor. the Wisconsin Dnr. Guess I will keep following the law. You never know who will show up or who is watching you.
  10. Any of the rods that I broke this year were due to my stupidity , closing the hatch with the rod sticking out or pulling the rod out and the line from another rod was wrapped around it. I have had good luck with them, and If I did have a problem they were replaced. Yes even the ones that I broke. While under warranty.

  11. Matt , how did the tips break?
  12. wow I am setup to run 20 rods out of my 18ft boat, that could take a long time solo to set lines.
  13. Here are those pictures, If you look in the pictures you will see the upper grip is triangular in shape . This really helps keep a good hold of the rod. This is a CP CL 862 Copper Rod. 8' 6" in lenth. Nice large eyes on these . As far as how they perform , :thumb:worked awesome for me this last year. For budget minded worth every penny. You can buy this at Bretts Place on the Bay. His Store is in Sodus Michigan. Web site is www.brettsplaceonthebay.com
  14. yeah keep the pictures coming , love to see the progress.
  15. I 'm adding a total of 6 more Okuma copper rods , they work awsome for the coppers . the Large eyes make it easy to get the copper with knots to pass through. I am using all 8' 6" rods except for my braided dipsy rods which are 10' 6" . Let me know if you would like to see these copper rods . I just ordered 4 and they were less than 125.00 shipped.
  16. I may stop down and check it out , I normally enjoy soft water , and stay off the hard stuff. My body just doesn't tolerate the cold as easily as when I was younger. My Son went back to work and if they stay busy I may have to find a new partner for some of next year. Well thats a way off right now , going to take awhile to go through all of the rods and put new line on , 24 of them . so I have plenty to do this winter.
  17. I would love too , but I won't use it that much this winter and my truck has been out in cold for the duration. The boat is spending the winter up by my fathers place . Tucked in a quite shed , awaiting that time just before the ice goes out . Then I can bring it back. Hate to do it but I have way too much to catch up on around the house. Had some shots in the back last week and I can move and bend once again. So now I have to do what I put off this summer.
  18. Last trip of the season . Made our way out to 85 FOW set lines . Put out the last board and go to take over sterring and 325 fires off, Nick lost it while still out 75 ft. Says you ain't going to beleave this. Nick resets and the 6 color fires , and rigger is looking strange. Before I can get to the rigger it fires and no ones home. well one in the box any way. We picked away at a few good browns and a few shakers. Changed over to Scotty releases and I think I will stay with them . Could even see the little shakers when they hit. Pulled lines and had a few more shakers on the boards. Finished the day with 6 nice browns and 5 shakers. Only lost one . All in all it was a good year , Starting with the Coho and having some real good days fishing. Ended up 22 fish over last year. Spending less days on the water. Can't wait for next year. Really hate to put the boat away. Tight Lines Jim
  19. Josh , a rental car should be available . That is what I decided after I found out how much it would cost to take my truck. I wanted to take my boat and it was very expensive. Though it would be nice to fish the other side but the cost was way too much , could fish a charter and still have money left. Still may go on a trip some time .
  20. Josh I had thought of doing the same thing but just haven't had the time this year. If there is shopping near by my wife would have plenty to do. You might want to see if Michigan (Muskegon) has a visitors guide available. I can tell you that the Lake express is very impressive , when it passes you within 300 feet. Had one close call this year. Was getting worried about my outside board. . How come your not fishing this weekend?
  21. Some very nice shots ' what were you using to get those?
  22. You will have to either get an extent ion kit or get the motor designed for sail boats which are extra long shaft 25" . You may want to contact mercury directly to find out the particulars. I have a 25 " 115 up main and my kicker is a 20 inch and it just makes it.
  23. Josh did you do better this year than last? How much difference did it make in the daily bag.
  24. With WI they are counting hooks or lures not always rods. If you fish with more than 1 hook it better be part of a lure or it will count as more than bait. Kind of silly but you know how government acts.
