We never clear lines. I'll move rigger rods to diver holders on the side to open a bigger hole in the back to net them. If a fish is hot and wants to run out to the sides where the divers are, we'll speed the boat up and put more drag on him to pull him to middle of the back of the boat.

I love mine. I rigged up a clincher release this year and stripped off more coating that I should have. I was losing signal at about 100 ft. I re-did it and only stripped off a 1/4 inch to attach to the bolt and it fixed the problem. I had problems a couple years ago when the coating on the cable was wore off in a few places. Once I replaced that, it worked great. Kell Labs have great service. I broke mine twice from abuse. Both times the unit got bashed when in my cabin on the road. Once the LCD screen cracked and once the power cord opening got smashed. Both times, I shipped it back to Kell on a Monday and had it back by late the same week. You don't need to change batterys very often either. I don't change mine until it doesn't work, seem to get about 12-18 trips on them depending on long we are out each time.

The accident occurred shortly after 10 p.m. and injured the boat’s owner, Christopher Foster, 48, of Custer, and passengers Russell Valentine, 52, of Pinckney, and Randy Culver, 51 of Hamburg. Foster and Culver were treated at Memorial Medical Center and released, but Valentine was treated and then transferred to Mercy Health Partners in Muskegon. He was listed in fair condition this morning. The Mason County Sheriff’s Office reported Foster told police he did not see the pierhead until it was too late. Police also said there was alcohol on the 17-foot Skillcraft, but said alcohol was not a factor in the accident. Dustin McClelland, boatswain’s mate second class at the U.S. Coast Guard station in Ludington, said the accident occurred about 10:10 p.m. — just after the Coast Guard towed another boat in to the Loomis Street boat launch. “We were already in Loomis Street when we got the call,†McClelland said. “They were trying to come in under their own power. We put them in a side tow and brought them in and noticed they needed medical attention,†he said, adding that the boat hit the pier “pretty hard†and the windshield was knocked off and the steering wheel was bent. The sheriff’s office reported the accident is under investigation. Assisting the sheriff’s office and Coast Guard Wednesday were the Ludington Police Department and Life EMS. Wednesday was the second time a boat hit a Ludington breakwater this summer. Don't be afraid to stretch the leaders to 36 to 40 inches on the big flashers. They work great with a long 3 fly teaser too in front of a fly or meat head.

Anyone running the new UV spoons and flashers? Picked up some UV mag streaks at the end of last weekend. I'm getting some DW paddles this weekend and know they are hitting a few fish but I haven't run any yet.
