  1. Nice job on the shakedown, it’s always fun learning a new boat! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Welcome to GLF Alex! Yes you will need to bring the downrigger weight up every time you take a fish on that rod or if you want to change a lure. You might want to consider booking a trip with a charter. Let them know that your getting started and want to learn and I’m sure they would be happy to help out. If you like books, Dan Keating has some very informative ones that you could take a look at. http:// http://www.bluehorizonsportfishing.net/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I have the wired version of the troll master and have been very happy with it. It was already installed on the boat when we got it so I don’t have any installation insight. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. It looks like you may not have had enough tension on the line to keep all the wraps tight. Watch this video if you haven’t seen it already. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Welcome to GLF Matt. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I would probably make the connection with a barrel swivel or an improved Albright knot. The FG knot is also a good option, but it’s a bit more cumbersome to tie. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Welcome to GLF! There are plenty of people here willing to share knowledge, just let us know if you have a question. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  10. I would go with the newer style, I like the changes they made in the handle, anti reverse and the counter. Whatever you decide to go with I hope it works out for you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I am running convectors as well, but the sizing is the same. I don’t think the 20’s would have enough capacity. I think the 30’s will also have larger drag washers and gears, most likely (I have not taken any apart to confirm that). I do have some 20dx’s for walleye fishing and I don’t think I would trust them if I was fishing for kings. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I like the 30 series on riggers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
