  1. Well, after oversleeping the alarm, pulling the windshield nearly off on the garage door, we left out of Holland around 6:45. Waves were a little bumpy, but we set up in 80 fow north. Took 2 kings and a laker all on riggers parked at 47 and 55 and one on a slider. Blue Halo JP slammer and ice frog on slider took the fish. Also missed a skipper steelie on a MI Sunset JP slammer that wouldn't stay in the water on a 5 color. AND I missed my first big fish of the year. Hit the 5 color and I couldn't control it... Waves made it hard and I couldn't move the fish with the board on. I think I was horsing it too much. Didn't break, just came unbuttoned. Do I loosen the drag and play it longer?? Overall great bumpy ride this morning. Fished from N of Holland to almost Saugie and back in 80 to 85 were our best. Windshield is fixed by the way...
  2. Nice job Steve... I have yet to net a fish solo... Haven't a clue how its done properly..
  3. Great morning... 7 for 8. Only miss was on double that we had to put the rod down to net the first fish. 5 color- blue dolphin- 2 steelie- 1 king 10 color- blue dolphin- 1 king rigger parked at 47-lemon ice- 2 kings - 1 laker best depth was 120-140... Fished 6:45-10am... No difference in direction of troll. Speed over ground was 2.7... Marked a LOT of fish from 90 out to 150... Thank you to all the service men and women who have sacrificed for my family's freedom... Happy Memorial Day.... God Bless
  4. Finally got out for a great evening troll. Started 90 fow, fished out to 167. Picked up 2 nice 8 pounders on a south troll, 45 down on rigger, with a blue dolphin. Missed a hit on a blue bubble fly 100 back. Worked back in and picked up 3 more between 100 fow and 70 fow on a east troll. Again, blue bubble fly, blue dolphin and monkey puke picked them up. Ended up 5 for 8. Missed a nice one on a rookie net job... Great night out there. First time I have ever gotten fish on all 6 rods... 45 down on rigger, 100 back on dipsy, 5 color and 10 color all took fish... seagaul

  17. Hey... Looking to get some copper running.. I currently run a 3, 5, and 10 color core... What copper should I get?? 300?? 150?? I only caught 1 fish on my full core last year.. Think I might tie up a 7 color core with my extra reels. Thoughts?

  18. Boat is ready... Putting on some more tracks and rod holders.. Heading to the D river end of march.. DNR has been slow on the west side to put the docks in over here...
  19. Kevin, I am thinking about trying farther south this spring. How far out are you fishing? 25 FOW?? Is South Haven not far enough?? New Buffalo better or does it really matter? thanks, Jef
  20. We did well out of holland last spring... Nothing huge, but nice going out early in the year... 10-20 cow worked best for me, body baits and 2 color core were the ticket...
  21. Hey guys, I inherited a planer mast and boards. I mostly fish east side of lake mich. Is it worth trying to figure it out??? I have been using in-line boards with no issues. Just wondering if I even bother or just save it if I fish Erie or something?? Any word on when the small water temp probes will come on the market?
  22. I have the same situation with my boat. I'm moving some rod holders towards the bow for future trees, so I can run 2 riggers, 2 mag dipsys, 2 reg. Dipsys and 2 cores when I have that 3rd person on rare trip. I too have a place for a chute rod and have never used it.
