  1. Great thread!! I updated my gps/fishfinder SMS can now find some structure. Most of it is like they said, patterns of long flat, followed by a drop... I have heard about the trenches Jim mentioned but have yet to find them. I must say I caught triple my amount of fish this year strictly due to the connections I have made from this site. You guys are great at sharing info and tactics... Thank you!
  2. 2 years ago, my hot rig was 2 color core with a gold thin fin. This year was 3 color and a bloody nose spoon for steelies. Fished only holland. I do always set 1 rod for steelies. Mainly a 2 or 3 color leadcore or a slider off the rigger. Troll fast for steelies too. Late fall I was going almost 4.0 on the gps trying to stay clear of the lakers and did quite well...
  3. I would like to join this league for 2011. What do I need to do? any fees, etc...?? Just seems like I always hear about it after the fact, so I want to be pro active this year!! I have enjoyed this site a lot! Can't wait for 2011 fishing!!
  4. Nice job Kevin!! I had to go 3.5-4.5 last weekend to keep the lakers off and still got 2 of them!!!
  5. yeah Alex, we were the only boat out of Holland. It was too windy for me to go out much... We pulled most of our steelies just off of spyglass and the state park. Bloody nose was HOT... couldn't believe the rigger went so many times!! Hopefully the wind will calm down some between now and mid Dec. to get back out there!
  6. Braved the chilly wind Sat. morning. Fished 7 am to about 11 am. Went 5 for 7. Three nice steelie's biggest being 8 1/2 pounds. 2 Lakers that were like footballs, all safely released. Fished 12-30 FOW north to PS, then back. Took most of the fish in 12-22 fow. Bloody nose off the rigger parked at 11 down, took the most fish! Missed 2 and got 3 on that rig! The only other rig that took fish was a gold thin fin on a high line. With all the water we covered we had 4 of our fish hit just off the state park!!! Should have just stayed there!! Gonna hold off winterizing now.... Don't know how many more times out, but hey it was a great day!!
  7. I've been doing well this fall, but have gotten all my fish well after sunrise. Do I still need to be out fishing pre-dawn like inthe summer?? Or should I wait until the sun is up and warming things a bit?
  8. Nice job Terry!! that's where we got ours today too... Lots of boats blew right by and went deep. We pulled lines at 9:30 to get back for church!! Gotta take what we can get! Hopefully I'll get out this week too. Weather looks great!
