  5. Nice night out Kevin! Always good to heed the daughters wishes... At least in my house it is! I'm heading out tomorrow (Friday) afternoon. I'll post what I do. Thanks for the report!
  6. 2 browns, but more coho than I have expected. Going out Friday after work. Not sure how far out to go. I want to run out a ways and go for steelie, but just don't know. I like your blog page. Is that pretty easy to use? Would love to start one. I've gone 8-10 so far this year... much better than last year!

  7. sorry, they were Coho.... (besides the sheepie)
  8. Went 3-4 out of Holland Sunday afternoon. All between the sliders and Saugatuck in 6-15 FOW, gold thin fin on high lines. Missed a good rip on a 2 color. Wish we saw that one!! Nothing big, just some nice eaters for the grill!! Well, ok, I got a sheep head too, but it still makes for 4 fish!!!
  9. Nice job!! I think I talked to you at the launch last night... Nice to meet you!
  10. went 3 for 3 on the shake down cruise! 1 laker, 1 coho and a skipper steelie. They all hit the same rod!! figures, run 6, they hit one! 2 color core, gold/black jointed rap. floater. 7-15 FOW, 1/2 way between Holland and Saugie. Great night out!
  11. Hey buddy! Great site. I need to find someone crazy enough to fish with me this early in the season. I am hoping to get out Sat. I want to run out to about 100 fow and see what I can get!! Trolled the shore yesterday and got nothing...

  12. I have the HD-7 with the maps and LOVE it!! My father has it too and just got the side imaging. Not to handy for the big lake, but a fun toy to add on if you fish inland lakes. I know the first models of HD had some issues with software, as do most new releases. I have had absolutely no problems at all. I think you will find guys love what they have because they know how to use it so well. I am still figuring mine out, but have had no issues with it. I am out of Holland and am always looking for fishing partners! Let me know, I can show you the HD stuff too if you want. Everyone has great advice on here, I need to get a notebook to start to write down ideas when they are posted so I can remember them all on the water! tight lines!
  13. Looking for some fluorocarbon leader help... 20# test?? Any certain brand? Looking for my 4 new leadcore lines and thinking about putting a 6 foot leader on my rigger lines for this spring. And of course my dipsy lines too... Any advice would be greatly appreciated. On a side note, anyone know when they will put the docks in at Port Sheldon??? Getting the itch... Bad...
  14. Thanks Ken, I think I filled it out right. I am in Holland. I have never fished out of Port Sheldon, but hear that's were the action is. It's hard when I am 1 mile from the launch in Holland! Second season, so things can only get better than last year right!? It was a tough learning year. Lots of times out without fish. I think I'll have it dialed in better this year!!
  15. I have to say, this is the most polite, informative fishing site I have been apart of. Thanks for all the help with my battery issue, I put a 2nd battery in with a perko switch and it was easy to do! Thanks for all the advice, not just on that, but reading all the other posts. Hopefully I'll get out soon for some browns and will be able to contribute!!
  16. Can you buy Peanut flies or should I try to make my own??
  17. Thanks guys! One last question about the perko switch. Can I run my 3 bank charger into it so I can plug it in at home and charge both batteries that are hooked up or is the switch just for the engine?
  18. Thanks Paulywood... It's good to know someone else has a similar problem. I do have an onboard charger, so when I get home I can plug it in. The problem with putting the electronics all on the front 2 is that I spend 2 weeks a summer in Canada and have no power supply for the front 2 so I believe I have to run all my electronics off the back to charge that battery. I have a feeling my boat projects are just beginning!!! Can I do a perko switch myself or should I bring it in?
  19. Hey guys, I am new hear and didn't know where this post should go. I just bought a Lund fisherman 1800. LOVE IT!! This is my second year. Last year, I noticed after trolling for a 1/2 day, my battery was getting low. (30%) I have space to add a second battery, and was thinking of doing this with a Perko switch. My kicker doesn't send any juice back to the battery. I bought a very large battery, but it still gets low. This year I am running electric riggers too. Any advice or help would be great. I do have 2 batteries up front but only have my electric trolling motor hooked to those because they don't charge off the engine. I also can't run my main and the kicker at the same time because I need to switch the gas over to the kicker. grrrr..... Thanks for any help and I hope to meet some of you on Saturday in Grandville. Jeff
  20. Jim, it's Jeff Gaul from the ATO website. I was wondering if I could borrow those Dan Keatin DVD's? You mentioned it earlier this winter and I can't find your number!! I am on the Northside of Holland. Thanks!

    Jeff
