  1. Something else to keep in mind...Set your boards out far enough so that the hi/outside diver doesn't get into it.
  2. With the bigger fish that you have the opportunity to catch, 40lb test might be a better recommendation?
  3. Yep, I still have some of the old 2's.
  4. Congratulations on the gill. I believe catch and release MA is 10 inches & over. C&K MA is 1 pound and over on a certified scale. I could be wrong, but that is how I read the rules. http://www.michigan.gov/documents/dnr/2009_Master_Angler_Application_258766_7.pdf
  5. I have seen the line of new rods that are hitting the market this year. What i didn't realize is that they are discontinuing a couple of the old lines. I really love the large tip eye on the 7' lead core rods (MODEL CP-LC-70 CLASSIC PRO LEADCORE TROLLING SERIES). They, along with the Blue Diamond roller rods are being discontinued. Just thought I would give those that have found a rod that they are pleased with a heads-up. I'm working on getting my hands on both. Nothing wrong with new stuff, I just really like what I already have.
  6. I know that Pyle's Port Hole, in South Haven, carries the Yogurt Flies.
  7. Welcome to the site Richard. What do you fish for?
  8. Yes. NK and Flintstones are very similar. I think you can add Silver Streaks to that same class too.
  9. I have two inter-flows rods from Cabalas. They have close to 10 years of use and no problems at all. I run Dacron on one and Fire-line on the other.
  10. No need to replace the wire unless you have a broken strand or bad kink too far down. The cost is about $36 for 1000 feet. It would eat up you inter-flows. Best bet is to go with the Okuma Blue Diamond roller rods, or at least that is what I use. I run braided on my inter-flows with no problems.
  11. Sounds like 7 strand 30lb test wire. It's a great way to get the Dipsy's deeper with less drag. Once you fight a fish with wire, you will never use mono again. Here is a link with some wire info:http://www.greatlakesfisherman.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12232&highlight=wire
  12. I could only find one S/M box on E-Bay. It's $46.99. Doesn't appear as if he ships to Sweden though. Sense I know the seller, I could see if he would make an exception. Just let me know if you want to pursue it.
  13. :yes:Pretty much the same as Nick has said. Never ran many NK's until the 2007 WMFL event with the NK package. They did very well for us. Had to sharpen every hook though.
  14. Welcome to a great site. My home port is South Haven. If you ever need any help, feel free to ask.
  15. I'll take you up...Sense I can't see what #16 is, I don't think it will be pick.
  16. I run #18 in the last hour of light from a Dipsey every trip! If Mixed Veggie goes, #14 goes out. #26 was one of my hottest spoons '06. I run #23 on a 7 color at first light. #20 has been good for me in late July. #12 & #13 can be good too. I have some fishing buddy's that swear by #1 & #30, but I can't buy a fish with them. I know close to half the spoons in my box have never seen the water. I thought I would stop buying more once the box was full, but it has slowed me down.
  17. Welcome to the site Rick. What size of tournaments are you looking to fish? I still get out and fish for Bass. Haven't fished any Bass tourneys in a few years.
  18. Fished a small Van Buren county lake on Sunday from 8:30 til 11:30. Kept 21 gills. The smallest one was 7 inches and the biggest was just over 10 inches. Most were in the 8-9 inch range. Best part was having the whole lake to myself. The pics don't do the fish justice.
  19. I had heard the flies work well at Gravel. I have never fished it, nor have I ever used flies. It's a bit of a drive for me. The farthest that I have traveled is Maple.
  20. Went back tonight. Couldn't keep the gills off. Kept 8 of them. Never found the Crappie. Did catch two Golden Shiners. Lost my Crappie jig too.
  21. Went to a small and shallow lake last night. I didn't have any expectations for the evening. I caught 2 gills out of the first hole. Drilled a second hole where I caught 2 more gills before catching a Spec on the drop. Raised my jig up to 5-6 feet and continued to catch more and released all of the gills. I only wish I had more day light. At 5:45 they shut right off. After a half an hour of fishing I kept 10 nice Specs ranging from 9-11 inches. Went back out again tonight. Spent to much time trying to find yesterdays spot. With the fresh snow, I couldn't find it. Managed 1 gill and lost 3 Specs at the hole. It was nice knowing that I was the only one fishing this lake for the past two days. A green and yellow glow with gold flake back, tipped with wax worms is what worked for me.
  22. Many people will hirer a guide. Most guides put allot of windshield time in.
