  1. Perch have slowed down in South Haven. Limits can be caught with alot sorting and time put in. Best spot is just south of the state park.
  2. Set down in 70 FOW water this AM @ 5:45. The first line out was the 6 color. It went as soon as I placed it in the rod holder. A MS Bloody Nose took that King. Worked from 110 - 75 FOW water till 10 AM. The 300' copper took the next three fish with a MS Happy Meal. Then we had a Steelhead take a rip on the 3 color with a MS Agent Orange. It took 4-5 leaps and came off. Finished the day 4-5 with 3 Kings and one Laker. Took my boat out yesterday. Started in 70 FOW at 7 AM. I had four rods set when I made a turn to the West. I had to bump my speed down because of the wind. When I did it stalled. Try to start it but had the same starter issues as a couple of weeks ago. Worked on pulling lines so I wouldn't have any tangles. When I went to pull the 9 color in, it pulled back. A Mag. Green Dolphin took that King on the drift:rolleyes:. I loosened the starter up and moved it around. The I moved the pulley and got it to start. We headed back home after that.
  3. Nice mixed bag! With the East wind, it got a little choppy out side of 70'.
  4. All the advise above is very good advise. One added piece of advise...When setting your out side boards, after taking a fish, let it out farther than needed. After the board is in place, bring it back into the normal running spot. Also, don't let out more than one core at a time.
  5. Great report! Sounds like it's time to put out some more spinny fly's combos.

  7. Sweet rig! I like all of the open space in the back.
  8. Fished this evening for about 2 1/2 hours. I caught my limit with some sorting. All toll we kept 150 perch. 25 FOW in front of Deer Lick was the spot.
  9. Welcome Greg! I don't think of it as a problem, but rather a habit.
  10. Well I did the afternoon shake down, with the new boat. I forgot to put the plug in. I remembered it as I was leaving the dock. No big deal, I just got out onto the swim platform and put it in. When I turned on the bilge, no water was coming out. So we had to put it back onto the trailer. Turned out that the hose blew off because it was clogged. Other than that, no problems. Talked the wife into going out on a sunset cruise later on. It was almost flat on the lake. I decided to stop and drift, as we watched the sunset. When I went to leave, the boat wouldn't start.( I think it's the starter) Had someone tow us in while it was raining. I hadn't put the rain coats in the boat yet. Well at least she staid dry in the cuddy. Oh yea... lost my Cubs hat to the wind, when the storm kicked up. After just getting my boat back from the shop, it's going back in again.
  11. Took the new boat out for it's first trip. We fished from 1-3 PM in 85-105 FOW. Took a 10lb Laker when I was setting lines. It came on 300 copper with DW Goldy Hawns Sister in 100 FOW. That turned out to be the only hit/fish we had.
  12. I liked part two even better than the first one. Maybe it's because I got some air time. Save me a starring spot in the next one:lol:
  13. Thanks for the report. Looked like a great morning to be out.

  17. Welcome to the GLF site! I'm fairly new to the site and love it.
  18. For lead, I run mine on zero. For copper, it's +2. If it's really choppy, I will back them down some.

  20. The West Michigan Fishing League is exactly what your looking for then. There is still one more tourney left at PS (July 12) and two in Muskegon. The guys are friendly and share info on the radio. It is a very friendly and fun competition.
  21. That is what I was thinking. I am planning on heading to the the East side for my first ever Walleye trip. It won't be for a couple of more weeks. I may be hitting you guys up for some trick of the trade soon. I will second that the releases on the Off Shore Boards plan out suck. It's not worth the money to pay more for the boards and then have to upgrade the releases.
