  2. Thanks Larry. That black glow screwball of yours is really doing some damage this year. I'm thinking I might need another one with the amount of abuse it's been taken lately. I think it 3 maybe 4 yrs old so thats pretty good. Thanks for making a great and durable product.
  3. What a change in water temp! Gotta love the north winds. Fished from 6- 11am. Headed out this morning to 80 fow and the water temp was 43 degrees 55 dn. Headed west, took hit at 111 and turned south. Trolled se and nw the rest of the day. Speed at the ball heading nw was 2.5, se was 2.25-2.75. Best water 100-110 fow. We went 8 for 12 today. 4. Nice Job Jeff! I been in that boat, oh wait I still am. We had a bunch coming off as well the last week or so. It's a blessing and a curse: blessing because you know you are fishing the right spots and a curse because that's what's coming out of your mouth when the 3rd one gets off.
  5. Is he working on the Daniel this year? We past them going opposite directions a couple times.
  6. Thanks Ken I'll give it a try. I did noticed, however, this morning my speed over ground was faster than almost everyone out there, including the charters. We were pretty much running parallel, so I know there can be some difference there.
  7. That's right am. I don't usually fish the am shift but with the temperature being what it is and the flies of late, I thought it might be a good day to venture out early. Set lines at 6 and pulled them at 10:30am. Setup heading nnw in 80 fow, rolled into the 90's and had 3 misses. Stayed in the 90's most of the morning and managed to pick up 3 on s trolls speed at ball was 2-2.25.Boats that went deeper came back into 80-100 fow. Water was 56 degrees 70 dn then warmed to 60 as the morning progressed. So here's what got hits/fish: BLL Blk glo Screwball- 1 hit Dipsy 150 set 1.5 Pickled Sunshine- 1 hit DR dn 65 mongolian beef- 1 hit DR dn 80 Polar Ice behind wht/blue SD- 2 fish #8 steel, #15 king DR dn 65 gator- 1 fish #13 king Things seemed a little slow, not sure if it was just me, Keep Em' Tight
  8. Trolled out to 120 then back into 100 and started taking hits. Switched to a n-s troll and had some success. 90-100 fow was the best water by far but it got crowded really quick, you know combat fishing in 100 fow. Hook up to landinng ratio absolutely stunk! Ended the night 3 for 10. Here's what tooks hits/fish 150 copper BLL Blk glow screwball - 3 hits dipsy 175 back green fly(homemade) - torn off dipsy 175 back polar ice - 1 hit dipsy 150 back pickeled sunshine- 1 rip 300 copper UV Blue dolphin - 1 fish 10 cl black fin tuna- 1 hit rigger down 65 atomic melon - 1 fish rigger down 55 mongolian beef - 1 fish Ok, so, what's the secret to keeping steelies on the long lines with boards on them. Most times we'd have the rod in hand letting the fish pull the drag out, and the next thing you know, hook pulled he gone! We can't even get the boards to the boat. Drags are not overly tight, hooks are all sharp, and I checked them after every hit, and we point the rod at the board so it won't dive. Are we doing somthing wrong? Should we being doing something else or is that the way it is? Lost 12 fish in the last 2 trips. Getting a little frustrated. Anyways, the fishing is pretty good so get out there, have fun, and "play nice", it's a big lake. Keep Em' Tight
