  1. I don't drink and drive.
  2. Please take the time to remember what this holiday is all about. Our brave young men and women that made the ultimate sacrifice deserve to be remembered one day a year. Fishing is fun and a day off from work is great but if nothing else just bow your head for a minute and remember all our friends and relatives that are gone especially the ones that died for our country.
  3. Mike, I was up early and checked the wind off Gravelly Shoal and #1 Buoy and decided not to go. With all the bugs yesterday I was thinking their would be some suspended fish today. We always start with a couple of lines high and most of the time they take a fish or two early. I'm glad you got into them. We had a couple of fish yesterday that were in the 22-23 inch range. Thanks for the report.
  4. All I'll say is Jim Dandy.
  5. Good to hear a report from the Sunrise side.
  6. I recently purchased a B&D 2 amp battery maintainer from Home Depot for $20. What I like about this charger is it's price and the the number of options for hooking it up. I'll use it for my boat and tractor. For my boat I don't need any of the three attachments I just plug it into one of the two wire downrigger feeds. Take a look at the link below and you will see this familiar connection. When the boat gets backed into its bay I just plug it in without the need to even jump onboard. Few things that cost $20 or under impress me but this sure does. A battery that is even slightly discharged will cause the starter to draw more amps and heat up. This should make off season battery maintenance a cake walk. I just thought it may help some of you. http://www.blackanddecker.com/power-tools/BM2B.aspx
  7. Kevin, That is so cool. Great pics.
  8. Nice ride.
  9. Yes that was one of them but just a regular Fire Tiger was producing also. You really have to be on your toes with the slow presentation. I have heard that cranks and spoons are picking up a few but the meat program seems to always shine.
  10. Nick, Don't sell them too much time. Ya can't ever buy any of it back.
  11. :thumb: to all the captains that participated. Nothing in this world is more rewarding than a smile on a kids face.
  12. GJ Buster.
  13. A beauty.
  14. Gonna have to do that one of these days.
  15. A pic is worth a thousand words. Joe A. Mel D. and I fished Au Gres. 3 man limit in spite of the calm water and a ton of bugs. 25-27 FOW pulling bouncers and meat. Low and Slow was where it was at. First 10 fish came easy and the bite got tougher for the last 5. Colors purple, glow chartreuse, fire tiger, and red. It's not easy pickings yet out of Au Gres but they are there if you are willing to work. I talked with Capt. Mike and he was on a faster track than we were. Capt. Mike is a class act. The over the hill gang can still get it done but it takes longer. My apologies for not being on the site much. Fishing is good for me but it takes a lot out of me also. Darn I think I'll do it again tomorrow if the wind looks right. I need to get some trips in before the crazy weekend. I'll probably hole up Sat-Mon unless someone twists my arm.
  16. Thanks Luke. I do fish the other side sometimes. Au Gres is my closest port. I fished out of every port from Port Austin to Tawas. Maybe we can trade a trip? I do fish skinny water on this side also. With the East wind churning today I may be in tight tomorrow while the water is dirty.
  17. Thanks for the report Aaron. I heard the silver bass were plentiful this year. Try the night bite. Silver bass usually only feed during the day.
  18. The axle with brakes is sure to be warmer. Forward energy is reduced to heat from the friction between the brake shoes and drum. In the near future the energy wasted by braking will be harnessed and possibly stored in batteries. The technology is already available.
  19. He always was a class act and probably always will be.
  20. Au Gres is picking up but the inner bay is hotter right now. I'll probably be out Wed fishing Au Gres.
  21. Micheal, A warm welcome to the site. Generally speaking the fish do seem to slow down as the day progresses. Sometimes there is a brief lull and they pick back up stronger than ever.
  22. They are healthy looking Lakers.
  23. Jacob, WTG helping the vets.
