  1. Ben, I used the epoxy repair kit and it worked ok. If you really want it to look good and match the rest of the boat talk to Bowker's in Zeeland. I had them fix some other areas on my boat and it looked good and the price was reasonable.
  2. Welcome Herb! It might help out if you fill out your profile of where you live/fish. Then guys will be able to give you better info to your specific location. And feel free to ask any questions, the people here are always willing to help.
  3. Welcome aboard and good luck. You must be excited.
  4. I am going to dispose of a bunch of spoons and flies and add a few back to get down to 1-2 brands and a few basic colors and then learn how to run them. I'm trying to simplify things since I have gotten out less the last few years. I added a couple new reels and might add one or two more. Want to add another copper rod. I am going to add the new Fish hawk X-4D but right now I'm contemplating the new Garmin 740s since it's on sale in March and there is a big rebate for the chart chip. Other than that I need to wheel out the small oxidation spots I have, do a thorough cleaning and do some organizing. Oh, and I will be doing most of it one-handed since I am having shoulder surgery on friday.
  5. Welcome Rob, let us know if you need anything.
  6. I was thinking about ordering some of these but haven't run any. Do you guys that have run them have some suggestions as to favorites? Thanks
  7. I'm shooting for Good Friday but it may not happen.
  8. Welcome and I also can feel the spring fever coming on.
  9. Thanks for the help guys. I tried resetting the breaker in the basement and it didn't help. I haven't had time to dig into it further, I've been working 16 hours a day most of the week. I'll look into it a little closer next week when I have some time. And thanks for the offer Dan, I might have to take you up on it if I can't figure it out.
  10. Check out Big Weenie. I know he sells teaser rigs.
  11. I think Ryan covered it so Welcome Robert!
  12. I'm going to have the new Fish Hawk X-4D installed, hopefully next month. I'll be sure to post a report on how it works.
  13. Thanks for the replies guys. I didn't check the breaker in the basement.
  14. OK, need some help here guys. Last saturday we went to leave the house and when I tried to close the garage door Shelley told me that there was no power in the garage. There was power friday morning when I left for work. Well, Shelley and Parker were sick all week so I just looked at it thursday and 4 of the breakers in the gargage panel were turned off. The garage panel is a sub panel that feeds off the house. I turned the breakers on and 3 of them still had no power coming out of the breaker. I thought that something had happened to breakers so I bought new ones and replaced them yesterday morning. Still no power. I tried moving the wires to a different breaker and they worked fine. The three that don't work are the top right, top left and the 3rd one down on the left. There are a couple below each that work fine. I have lots of extra room in the panel so I put a brand new breaker in the panel in an empty slot. No power. By this time I was tired and confused so I gave up. Anyone have any ideas? Do I have to replace the panel? I would appreciate any help.
  15. I don't like the Wilderness rods because they don't bend smooth. Just a preference but it drives me nuts. I have TDR's for leadcore and braid divers and like them.
  16. I would gladly pay double for a fishing license over what I do now. I don't have any major issues with the DNR to be honest with you. I have bought a buck license every year since I was 14 and have bought the combo license every year since it came out. I have shot 2 bucks in my life. I also buy a doe tag every year. I have shot 5 doe in my life. The years I shot one I bought a 2nd doe tag. I consider it a donation since I more than get my money's worth on my fishing license. I also pay for the state park sticker on both vehicles and would gladly pay it for anyone else who wants it. A couple of hundred dollars a year for all the money they spend on fishing for me is chump change.
  17. Welcome Michael! If you have any questions or need any help just let us know. The members here are always willing to help.
  18. Very sorry to hear. Best wishes Nels.
  19. This one might interest you: http://bees-sports.com/Pre-Owned.html There's a Sea Ray here that has twin outboards.
  20. I have a 22' Sportcraft that is along the lines of what you are looking for except it has an I/O. I love it. Tows nice, fishes 4 large adults comfortably, rides nice in the water. A friend has a 20' Sea Swirl with an outboard that he is happy with, also. In your price range you should be able to find a really nice boat. Everyone has a brand preference but when I was looking I found out that the most important thing was how the boat is maintained. I would suggest start looking at sites like boat.com, iboats and others and see what's out there. And before you buy, get a survey done. It's more important with glass boats IMO. If you find something that interests you feel free to post it here, I'm sure guys will be willing to give you feedback and help you out. Good luck and have fun looking, it's the best part.
  21. A surveyor told me he likes to use a hard plastic screwdriver handle to tap on stringers, motor mounts and the transform. It won't leave a mark but it's obvious when there is a problem.
  22. I know that they are sold at soem of the local tackle shops like Gold Coast in Port Sheldon. They also had a website but I'm not sure you can purchase direct. I'll look around.
  23. The walleye boards will only pull out so far no matter how much line you let out. The bigger TX-44 boards just work a lot better.
