  1. Good job Luke, gooing to try to get out there again this week. Tom
  2. I went to Quincasee this morning, got there around 6:15 am and was the first vehicle in the lot. Went out to 13 fow and started to troll with the wind. Water had a kind of green tint to it a lot a bait fish on the graph but not a lot of fish. Got one huge sheep head and that was it. There were about 8 boats out there and the only time I got wet was when I was goiong out and the spray from the waves got me. I was in my little boat so whenit started to blow up I had to leave. The water temp was 62*-63* visibility was about 2 ft. I used harnesses and tried a couple of Deep Lil' Rippers. Tom
  3. That looks like a good sign for sure. Nice fish. Tom
  4. You have to have a season pass to launch out of Thomas Rd Marina. They started that last season.
  5. I had a couple of the the plastic ones, and the problem with those are if you hit the throttle too hard in reverse it will chew up the plate. The other issue I had was the springs weren't stiff enough, the plate would not slow me down enough and I found out the plate was creeping up, so I went back to the Happy Troller. With the lastest boat I got I'm going to try a single bag off the transom, we will see how that works. Tom
  6. Nice job and welcome aboard. Were you using live bait with the spinners? Tom
  7. He said he launched from the river mouth, so I assume the DNR ramp.
  8. Sometimes you can go to Radio Shack and they will have that kind of stuff.
  9. The splitter would be an improvement over the 12 inch one you have now, but its personal preference, I like it because it didn't take up any more space, had no effect on my VHF. If you already have the ratchet base ready maybe thats the way to go for you. Tom
  10. I read this on another site, make sure that your shielding or ground wire is not touching you single coax. If any of the shielding wire is touching the single strand coax you will have problems. Tom
  11. Man I always forget about e bay.
  12. Just saw one in Overton's man that thing went up in price. Item number 91367 price is $64.99 plus tax and shipping. Look around maybe you can find one locally. Tom
  13. I used a splitter and it worked out great. It should come with a piece of coax for your radio, and when you key up the mike it automatically switches off the am-fm. I liked it a lot. Tom
  14. Lived in Muncie for 15 years before I had a chance to move back to Michigan. It's quite a distance to get to any big water fishing that's for sure. When I lived there I fished Port Clinton and then in June I would leave my boat in Bay City so I could fish the bay. Good luck on rigging the boat. Tom
  15. I sold it a guy from up north, no one we know. Hate to see it go, but had to do it. Now I have to change my avatar. Tom
  16. The boat is Sold!!!!!! Thanks for all the help and support. Sold it on CL this morning. Tom
  17. I take mine apart every couple of years just to check the bearings, brakes and seals. It also depends on how much traveling you do with the trailer. It doesn't hurt to replace and repack the bearings by hand . That's me though, so far so good with bearing failure. Tom
  18. Walleye boards and you will be able to tell when there is a fish on them. Watch how they run, the nose will ride slightly higher in the water, when you get a fish it will pull the board back. Once you watch them you will be able to tell if you have something, whether it be a fish or weeds. Good luck, I use both, big boards on the Trophy and inlines on my smaller boat. Both have their place. Tom
