  1. Nice report Adam and good job on the 'eyes. Tom
  2. Good job Frank and keep on them. Are you fishing next week? Let me know when you have a open seat. Tom
  3. How much coax wire do you have? You just need enough to get to your radio, there is a thing as having too much. You want to keep it as short as possible. Make sure the ground on the coax is soldered to the outside of the connector and you have enough of the middle sticking out to make contact.
  4. Try the willis knot, I have a hard time but a lot of people swear by it.
  5. I went out today and got run off by the bugs. I started in the sailboat bouys and then headed east of the channel and all I got was one big cat. It was dead calm out there today. There is a lot of stuff floating on the surface, almost like we need some wind to push that stuff out.
  6. Good job Frank give me a heads up a couple of days in advance and we'll schedule a trip. Tom
  7. The concensus is the big bug hatch out there when its calm. I can't believe the bugs when there is no wind to blow them away. Going to try again this weekend. Jason call me when you get free. Final Episode Tom
  8. Fish yesterday off Au Gres and ended up with 5. Put up with the fog and bugs. The fog burned off about 11:30 am but the bugs never went away. Nothing special 30-35 fow wonderbread, reverse muffin and blue and pink with a rainbow blade on 2 oz bbs 60-70 feet back. We were in front of the river mouth to Pt Au Gres. Tom
  9. Give me some notice if you're a rider short during the week. Do you still have my number? Let me know. Tom
  10. Good job Frank, going to be up your way Sunday I'll give you a shout. Tom
  11. Good report I'd like to get up there sometime. I haven't fished there since I was a kid with my dad. Tom
  12. Fished Q see this morning and ended up with 4 with one throw back. Should have had my limit. Fished a couple of different spots started out in 7 fow and nailed one right away then weed sent out to deeper water where I picked up another one right away. Seeing all the boats off the river I decided to try that before heading in and picked up two more in 10 fow. All three harnesses worked chart and pink, blue and pink and red with a copper blade using 1 oz bbs 40-70 feet back. Tom
  13. Man you gotta love that. Nothing better than finding a small problem. Should always look at the small things first. Tom
  14. My 11 year old is the same way, loves to drive the boat going in. Now he is interested in rigging lines and cleaning fish. If I could only get him to get his grades up in school I'd be on cloud nine. I love the fact that he takes an interested in all things outdoors. I'm truly blessed to have 3 kids that are interested in the same things I am. Final Episode Tom
  15. Thinking about heading that direction tomorrow. Winds are supposed to be light and varaible, should be ok in the little boat for a couple of hours before work. Tom
  16. Let us know what they find out. Tom
  17. Heck Scott thats only a couple of weeks away. I'll be back up by then also well, hopefully and I'll be in the Trophy with the boys in tow. Tom
  18. Water is heavier than gas and will settle to the bottom of your tank, I'd wait a day or two then, I'd put a hose in the tank and start siphoning, if you get water keep siphoning till you get gas then stop. Are your fuel filters clean? Just a thought, I had a similar problem and ended up changing and cleaning all my lines and changing the vacuum line from the carb back to the fuel pump, then fresh gas and it ran like a top after that. This was on a I/O. Good Luck. Tom
  19. Good job on the fish Frank. We left around noon because my brother had to get home. Tom
  20. Yeah I saw you out there in fact we fished next to each other for about 1/2 hr. Like I said I was in my brothers boat and he didn't have a radio. Final Episode Tom
  21. Fished Au Gres this morning, ended up with 5. It was a beautiful morning to be on the water if we could have found some active fish early we would have been better off. We ended up straight off the mouth about 2-3 miles out in 28-30 fow. Bottom bouncers 65-70 ft back and chartuesse was best for us. The fish were biting light, had one that just about pulled the rod out of the holder get to it and nothing there and the crawler looked like it wasn't even touched. Really had to watch the rods to see the fish bite. Still great to be out today on my brothers boat. Final Episode Tom
  22. Frank that is one motely crew you had there but it sure didn't scare the fish away. Good job boys and I'll be there tomorrow. Tom
  23. Everybody had their favorite electronics and mine is Humminbird. I wasn't real sure at first but after I bought the 917c and got comfortable with the buttons I don't think I'll ever use anything else. I can't comment on customer service because I've never used it and hopefully won't have to in the future. I have three finders and all perform flawlessly so far. Tom
  24. Welcome Matt, great bunch of guys with a lot of info here. I fish from Bay City to AuGres its a great fishery but you have to respect it also. It can blow up in a hurry, the wave action is not like big water fishing. You don't get the long rollers on the bay like you would in deeper water. Hope you get into them and let us know how you do. Tom
