Fished out at the mouth of the river this morning, got one and that was it. A little chilly this morning but not bad. Got it 8 fow little ripper 20 ft back. Wish I had more but that is it. Tom

Nice report Frank, its nice to fish with some one else and like I said we will get togeher this summer. I had the opportunity to do that earlier this week and really appreciated the trip. I went last night, got a late start and had one break me off and that was it. I was a little rough in the small boat, but still got out. Fished stick baits on the leeward side of the island. Not many boats out. Going to try it again this week sometime. Will post results. Tom Final Episode

Fished the island at the mouth yesterday with a friend of mine and we had some early action, but then shut off. We ended up with 3 on reef runners. Beautiful day just could get the fish to go. It'll get better. Tom Final Episode

In cold water sometimes you don't want a lot of action. The methods Adam said will work. The cold water slows everything down you'll want more action as the water warms and the fish really get active. Tom

You're right Frank, there are better days ahead.

One thing for sure up there, that water is clear, I could the see the anchors on the bottom of the bay at the mouth of the river in 8 fow, and the water temp at the launch was 39* man thats cold. Tom

Tried AuGres this morning, all I will say is cold, windy, and no fish. We tried towards Pt Lookout and got nothing. WE did mark a few fish in 15 fow but no takers oh yeah the water temp was 40*-41*. We fished till we got blown off and it was rolling by 10 am. Oh well it will get better. Tom

Nice job on the fish guys. You know how that goes story of my life. Going to try to get out Saturday, was shooting for Thursday but plans changed. I'm keeping an eye on posts so I can try to figure this thing out. Tom

Tried the night bite off Linwood tonight, well nothing to show for it. Moved several times, tried 20 -23 fow and never marked a fish tonight. Going to try it again Thursday weather permitting. Had good ice the ice road looked iffy in some spots so I satyed off to the side. Water was clear I could see my jig and minnow 15 ft down. The wind did pick up and a lot of people were coming in early. Tom

Thats fishing Adam, I'm thinking about next week sometime off Linwood, but with this weather it might make it a little tougher to get out on the quad. Just have to wait and see. Tom

Thanks for the head up Frank. I'm just a little to leary about the ice. I might try it next week sometime. I'll post if I go. I saw on one site some where that one guy was fishing the AuGres River and said he was on them just couldn't close the deal. Oh well off to work. Tom

Fished the silos again today with one bite. The fish were there and they would follow my jigging rap but not take it. I tried 23 fow with no current and visibility around 5 ft. The ice was 9". Thought I might get into this morning before the storm but no luck. Thats fishing. Tom

Yeah its starting to look like Monday morning now. I've read a few stories about problems with working cracks and snow blowing in and people going through in 18 fow. Tom

Good job Adam, I'm going to try tomorrow off State Park in the afternoon if I can get a few honey do's done in the morning. If not I'm going Monday morning before work. Tom
