  1. Fished Q see this morning and ended up with 4 with one throw back. Should have had my limit. Fished a couple of different spots started out in 7 fow and nailed one right away then weed sent out to deeper water where I picked up another one right away. Seeing all the boats off the river I decided to try that before heading in and picked up two more in 10 fow. All three harnesses worked chart and pink, blue and pink and red with a copper blade using 1 oz bbs 40-70 feet back. Tom
  2. Man you gotta love that. Nothing better than finding a small problem. Should always look at the small things first. Tom
  3. My 11 year old is the same way, loves to drive the boat going in. Now he is interested in rigging lines and cleaning fish. If I could only get him to get his grades up in school I'd be on cloud nine. I love the fact that he takes an interested in all things outdoors. I'm truly blessed to have 3 kids that are interested in the same things I am. Final Episode Tom
  4. Thinking about heading that direction tomorrow. Winds are supposed to be light and varaible, should be ok in the little boat for a couple of hours before work. Tom
  5. Let us know what they find out. Tom
  6. Heck Scott thats only a couple of weeks away. I'll be back up by then also well, hopefully and I'll be in the Trophy with the boys in tow. Tom
  7. Water is heavier than gas and will settle to the bottom of your tank, I'd wait a day or two then, I'd put a hose in the tank and start siphoning, if you get water keep siphoning till you get gas then stop. Are your fuel filters clean? Just a thought, I had a similar problem and ended up changing and cleaning all my lines and changing the vacuum line from the carb back to the fuel pump, then fresh gas and it ran like a top after that. This was on a I/O. Good Luck. Tom
  8. Good job on the fish Frank. We left around noon because my brother had to get home. Tom
  9. Yeah I saw you out there in fact we fished next to each other for about 1/2 hr. Like I said I was in my brothers boat and he didn't have a radio. Final Episode Tom
  10. Fished Au Gres this morning, ended up with 5. It was a beautiful morning to be on the water if we could have found some active fish early we would have been better off. We ended up straight off the mouth about 2-3 miles out in 28-30 fow. Bottom bouncers 65-70 ft back and chartuesse was best for us. The fish were biting light, had one that just about pulled the rod out of the holder get to it and nothing there and the crawler looked like it wasn't even touched. Really had to watch the rods to see the fish bite. Still great to be out today on my brothers boat. Final Episode Tom
  11. Frank that is one motely crew you had there but it sure didn't scare the fish away. Good job boys and I'll be there tomorrow. Tom
  12. Everybody had their favorite electronics and mine is Humminbird. I wasn't real sure at first but after I bought the 917c and got comfortable with the buttons I don't think I'll ever use anything else. I can't comment on customer service because I've never used it and hopefully won't have to in the future. I have three finders and all perform flawlessly so far. Tom
  13. Welcome Matt, great bunch of guys with a lot of info here. I fish from Bay City to AuGres its a great fishery but you have to respect it also. It can blow up in a hurry, the wave action is not like big water fishing. You don't get the long rollers on the bay like you would in deeper water. Hope you get into them and let us know how you do. Tom
  14. Good luck you guys and Welcome Kevin a bunch of good guys here. I like to fish form Bay City to AuGres so if you're out and you hear me on the radio don't be afraid to talk. If you look at my avatar thats my boat 21' Trophy Final Episode. Tom

  19. Nice report Frank, its nice to fish with some one else and like I said we will get togeher this summer. I had the opportunity to do that earlier this week and really appreciated the trip. I went last night, got a late start and had one break me off and that was it. I was a little rough in the small boat, but still got out. Fished stick baits on the leeward side of the island. Not many boats out. Going to try it again this week sometime. Will post results. Tom Final Episode
  20. Frank, I still have your number somewhere I'll call you and we'll get together this summer I promise. Tom Final Episode
  21. Fished the island at the mouth yesterday with a friend of mine and we had some early action, but then shut off. We ended up with 3 on reef runners. Beautiful day just could get the fish to go. It'll get better. Tom Final Episode
  22. Welcome aboard John. Friendly, nice, reliable people here. Tom Final Episode
  23. In cold water sometimes you don't want a lot of action. The methods Adam said will work. The cold water slows everything down you'll want more action as the water warms and the fish really get active. Tom
  24. You're right Frank, there are better days ahead.
  25. One thing for sure up there, that water is clear, I could the see the anchors on the bottom of the bay at the mouth of the river in 8 fow, and the water temp at the launch was 39* man thats cold. Tom
