  1. I didn't measure, but I was surprised by how much was there. I'd guess 6"-10". Tom
  2. Fished the silos in Zillwaukee this morning with no luck. Three bites no fish landed. I was in 26 fow with a little current and clarity wasn't bad either. Not many people fishing, but the ones that were out did a lot of moving which is not good sign. Tom
  3. I will make a donation to the site if it is sold from here. Please mention Great Lakes Fisherman when contacting me. Thanks Tom
  4. Ecomics always plays a part of my purchases. That is always an over riding factor for me too. Tom
  5. I know Frank that you are looking for two stand alone units, but I have a Humminbird 917c with the Hot Maps chip. So far so good I've not had any problems with it but it is a combo unit. On the GPS unit I would recommend an external antenna, if you have room. Good luck and buying electronics can be mind boggling for sure. Tom
  6. Yeah have you looked at the satelite lately? This keeps up I'll have to get the batteries charged on the small boat. Tom
  7. Fished yesterday at Zilwaukee bridge with little success. My nephew caught seven small ones no keepers. We had good ice and the fish were biting lite. Small blue and chrome Do Jiggers and about six inches of ice. Tom
  8. Here is mine shot him five years ago in Central Indiana. He is an eleven point with a 24" inside spread, was aged at 5 1/2 year old, his weight was 200 and scored 147 2/8. I shot him on the last day of the season just before dark. I never knew how big he was until my buddy and me walked up on him. We were surprised to say the least. He is right over my harness tying table.
  9. You can't beat a boat that catches fish and gets you back and forth. Tom
  10. You are right Frank, we need to get out together and wet a line. I don't know where time goes. This summer was terrible for me I just couldn't get things together for fishing the way I would have liked to. With the good Lord willing we'll make it happen this summer. Tom
  11. Thanks Frank it is a beautiful fishing boat.

  14. Here is my 2003 Trophy, thinking of maybe selling it and moving on to something else this summer. If interested let me know. http://www.greatlakesfisherman.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=3141&c=member&imageuser=783]
  15. Wow with fish like that you could turn some deer hunters into salmon fishermen. Good Job guys. Tom
  16. He'll do a fine job in his new role. Congrats Adam. Tom
  17. If you check and try to fill it make sure the cylinder is retracted and not extended. If you fill it when extended you will have too much oil in it when the rod retracts in the cylinder. Tom
  18. Nice fish Frank, I'm planning on trying to get out on Saturday again. Tom
  19. I saw the forecast for the wind direction and decided to go to the west shore for some in close trolling. Fished 13-15 fow between Linwood and Pinconning and was lucky to take five and one big sheep the water temp was 67-69 degrees speed was 1.1 to 1.5. It sure didn't look that bad this morning when I stopped to Frank's to get bait but once on the water was a different story. I only caught fish when I trolled into the wind, chartreuse and red beads with a Happy Hooker copper backed blade was the better color with a 1 ounce bb 20 ft back on the inline board. I was in my little boat today so the waves always seem bigger when you are closer to the water. The other color was orange and black beads with a orange, chartreuse and black chrome back blade right behind the boat on a 1 ounce bb 20 ft back. I was lucky enough to get off the water before it really started to blow. Tom
  20. Won't take many of those fish to fill a freezer. Way to go, you guys are getting me wound up to try for the silvers. I haven't fished the west side in 20 years but it sure gets me fired up to see fish like that. I'll make it over that way one of these days. Tom
  21. That must have been a nice change of pace to use the in line boards.
  22. Dinner last night was:good::good: The boys wanted me to jump in with them but didn't have my suit and told them someone has to stay in the boat and make sure a rope is out for them. I'm sure it was refreshing. Tom
  23. The boys loved that part. They didn't want to get back in the boat, sure is nice to be young and care free. Thats the first time I could talk them into swimming off the boat and then when they got into the water they didn't want to stop. Tom
  24. Yeah I was working on it. Its awful strange to go out on the bay in mid August and get fish, as you know this is salmon time and usually the walleyes seem to go away and hide. Tom
