  1. The bloody nose is one of my stealth baits works well in 45 ft and up and is hot on a full core. Always have it in the water. usuallly on a full core.
  2. Ive found in the past when there is a full moon that the mid day bite is not that bad. but you have to bounce everything off of bottom. otherwise most are probobly fishing in the dark.
  3. Nice catch Jarrod. thanks for the SH report. Might nix the trip to luddington next weekend and stay close to home. I will give you a shout if I do.
  4. Atleast you did not come back with the skunk. Nice job.
  5. Thanks for the report Andy. was going to go out yesterday but she was a beast out there.
  6. I would love to go. However the wife has different plans for us. we have to go tubing down the Muskegon. If the weather shuts you down look us up your welcome to float it with us. I am eager to get the boat back up there.
  7. I noticed up in luddington if your catching fish other boats will get right behind you even if it means they go over all the top of your long lines or even if your fighting a fish. Kind of reminded me of ice fishing. If your catching fish go spud him in.
  8. Nice job Doug. Ive noticed that your getting very consistant in your catches and are catching fish on just about all your trips that you post.
  9. Dude that is one cool set up. I would love to catch a 20Lb chinook out of a rig like that. Might be better then a ride at ceader point. especially if you hit a double
  10. Steam clean the carpet. You have to get all of what is causing the smell out of the carpet. If you dont the smell will keep comming back reguardless of how much febreeze, etc you spray in it. After you clean it then use carpet dissinfectant cleaner on it and let it air out.
  11. nice pics thanks for sharing.
  12. Jarrod Thanks for posting this for us. Your welcome on my boat anytime. Your a good fisherman and a great guy. I cant wait to do it again. This was my first trip out since May 19th. I have not been doing alot of fishing this year and to go and visit a port that I have not fished in years and take a limit is a blessing from god. I have been keeping a little secret as to why I have not been fishing and some of you may know. I was diagnosed with Thyroid and Lymphnode cancer back in late December of last year. It has been a long haul with a 10 hr surgery in Jan and treatments for the last 6 months. This was my first weekend away from the wife and kids and family since being diagnosed. And it was like it was my first day fishing again. I Still have a cheesy grin on my face and to go away with the guys drink good beer Eat Venison and Beans and just be myself was exactly what I needed. Thank you Barron and Jarrod most of all thank you God.
  13. As many of you know I have a sub troll so here is the info that I learned when I installed mine as I was on the Phone with Duane when I installed it 3 years ago. These are calibrated when they are built. they are tested by jumpering out the ring on the top of the sub troll and clipping an alligator clip to the gold washer located on the top side of the paddle wheel. Now when I set mine up I set my boat speed at 2 mph on a calm day on my gps . then I put the probe on my down rigger and put it down in the water behind the boat about 1' down so there was no other currents running against it. I looked at the speed read out and saw that my gps and my sub troll were off about .8 to 1 mph. I used the red screw in the back of the unit and set it to the gps. Now I realize there is a difference betwee speed over land and speed over water. then I ran it down to 50' and there was not much difference in the read out. at 2.5 on the gps was 2.5 on the sub troll. Now this was on a calm day. Now that they are the same when I ran it down on a day with a chop and current I can actully see the difference in what the water conditions can do. You will noice that gps will still be about 2.5 but if there is a current you will see just what it is doing to your luhr speed as my sub trill was reading about 1.7 and bumped up the speed to 2.5 on the sub troll. the gps was reading about 3.1. if I left it at the slower speed I notice I stopped getting hits and you could see your luhr acition almost go away. this told me I achieve what I was after. the difference between speed at the surface and speed at the ball. I was told that the calibration for you is what ever you make it for your boat. Keep in mind you only need to jumper it our if you want to see your read out work if your boat is not in the water. I just mentioned it so you would know. any calibration has to have a 0 point and the only way to achieve that is get the boat and the sub troll set the same at the surface and that will give you your difference at the ball. I have herd alot of guys state that when they installe these they noticed that there was a big difference between there gps and there sub troll and this is why. Hope this was not to confusing. and two answer your main question 2.5 to 2.9 are my best speeds on the sub troll.
  14. Nice fish Mark. I am headed out this weekend for the first time since May 19th and am looking forward to going after some silver fish.
