  1. like I said little by little, and yes she was mad when she looked at the visa bill last week and saw that I purchased a new subtroll 900. However a week later she is over it. just say those three little words to her. ( Ill work overtime ) Joe: boat name (sivler one)
  2. hey all I would start with ebay. My Dad just rigged His 15 footer with rodholders, 2 Penn manual longarms six new fishing rods with line counters by okuma and a couple of roddys by penn lead core rigs. I think he has less than $1,200.00 into all of it. Add another 5 to 6 hundred for a graph and gps and your good to go. then just buy what you can when you can. I started with just a boat, 221 Islander. bought 4 fishing rods two manual cannon downriggers and two rod holdes. Just ran 4 rods for the first two seasons I owned it. Little by little im up to 4 walker captains pac electric with auto shutoffs, new graph, gps, marine radio, 9 additionl ram mount rodd holders and now own approx 20 different down rigger, lead core and surface board rigs. this has taken appox 6 years. Now I am looking at installing a fishhawk. Just takes time. all you need is just a few to get started. Just remeber its alot more fun to fish with just what you need rather then not at all. Over the years My dad And i have rigged four different boats and found the same thing It just takes time Joe: boat name (silver one)
  3. Mike you can count me in. However three man teams on the big pond is tough. most boats run minimum of 4 guys unless tournement officials assign a observer. in most big pond tournements you will have two guys working the back of the boat. and one driving and one observer. You can look at rules of other tounements to get an idea. such as the blue water salmon classic, the fish kinkarde salmon durby or the pizza hut off shore challenge they run in a tri port tournement in new buffalo,st. joe , and southaven in that order on back to back weekends. if you want more info give me a shout ? 4. Hey Made it back out sunday afternoon and redemed myself as I went 2 for 2 with my boy zachary. One was on skeen drop back fishing a deep hole the other was on the troll with an orange, white and chartruse hot n tot. My luck seemed to be changing as the past three weekends I have gone 0 for 1 and 0 for 2 and 0 for 2. I went to get a pic of my boy with his fish and when I took my camera out the little batterie door came open and into the big muddy went my rechargable batteries. So I did not get a pic of them. I will put spare batteries for camera on my items to carrie on boat. Bolth were bulls around 6/7 lbs. Kept one for the grill and let the other go. till next week Joe, boat name: ( silver one.)
  5. Howdy all hit the kalamazoo on 1/21 and ended up 0 for 2 on steelies. On two trips im 0 for 3. this is not typical for me but that is why they call it fishing and not catching. The water was a bit cool at a waping 35 to 37 degrees. A couple of buddys ended up 2 for 2 yesterday, as they will be emailing me the pics and will post. Hot n tots on the troll 55 to 60 ft behind the boat. orange and chartruse and purple took the hits. Untill next week. good fishing to all.
