  1. Finally had a good day out of Port, ran out to the deep water and found some coho and rainbow. 135 degree heading for 9.5 miles. Its fun when every rod in a 11 rod spread takes a hit. Hot baits were moonshine rv bloody nose and crab face and DW SS double orange with gold tape and mixed veggies.f/f on a rigger down 61 and a dypsy 3 set out 121. 14 for 25 ><> 9 bows and rest coho.
  2. I did what Ryan suggested with the P66...:thumb::thumb: Unbelievable difference in size of transducers from what I had..
  3. I'm extremely happy with my Garmin 740S from Calumet Marine and it works under an aluminum hard top.

  6. In place of the red or16 I use these : ThePinClip.com ..they are more user friendly a couple of ways for old fingers and have a brass pin thats a little longer and easier to see if you have your line around it.
  7. I would buy a 6oz torpedo diver and attach just after your 5 colors are out. Then let out required amount of line to achieve your desired depth. Use a pinch pad with a center pin to attach to your line.
  8. My2sons, I went through the same scenario your going through now. I did go play at the stores with all the competition.I have used my buddies Lowrance stuff, I had Eagle FF and gps. I bought a Garmin 740s from Frank/Calumet Marine(site sponsor)..flat out best deal and his son Hondam rocks as far as knowledge and sharing info that I could understand. I was also looking for a unit to add radar down the road.
  9. Iron sights will work, red dot is nicer:grin: 3" should be sufficient the most important thing to do is pattern test to see where the pattern is going.

  20. skin off for boils as well, those spring coho hold together just fine in the kettle.
  21. Skin off always. I also remove lateral line and pin bones before vac packing. That way if I grab a fillet for deep frying its ready to go other then cutting into nugget size pieces. If I smoke some after freezing presentation is not an issue as most of the time it goes into salads or dips.
  22. Skin off, that way when I grab a fillet for deep frying its ready to go.(all pkg. with lateral line out and bones removed)vacuumed sealed.
