  3. Thursday docks were out of the water and a crew was dredging. Water was very low last fall and until the resent rains this spring.
  4. Congratulation !! Great opportunity for you out of Grand Haven. Dana is a very good Captain/Fisherman and is always willing to share info with the weekend fishermen.
  5. Looks like Grand Haven launching is going to be trouble this year also.
  6. Hello Dan Riggers, dipsy's, and cooper. Most of our fish last year came on cooper rigs, we run Okuma Convector reels CV45 & CV55 on Shimano Talora rods. 2 each 75,150,225,300, & 450 cooper 45#. Grand Rapids show has some good prices, some Grand Haven charter captains will be there - Thunderduck, Sea Flea, Reel Action will give you some help also.
  7. Hello Ray We started out last year on April 1st out of Grand Haven in 150/180 ft. We were 58 for 74 on the first 5 trips in April - spoons and flasher flies on cooper, riggers, and dipsy's. Usually we start out in shallow chasing Browns and Steelhead with stick and body baits but was slow so we headed deep and did well. Had a great year on Kings in 150 to 200 fow straight west of the smoke stack. Same as Jimbobber - fishing gets good in the 40-50 degree.
  8. Always take skin off grill, frying, baking, or jerky. Only leave it on if steaking for fish boil.
  9. 1 Mainiac - I am right with you !! Copper is great. 2-25', 2-50', 2-75', 2-150', 2-225', 2-300', 2-450', 1-600' = 15 total. Can hit any deep needed and they all catch fish at different times. Made 18 trips this year ended up with 160 fish - most on copper.
  10. You need copper, much easier to bring in than lead, runs deeper. We now have 12 cooper rods and do not run lead anymore - feel every move the fish makes, much more fun than lead.
  11. Welcome to the site - great group wiling to help.
